Why should you actually play StarCraft II or Xbox Live when you can have your achievement fix right here inside the heart of ESPORTS?
Now, you're able to do exactly this!
Earn achievements as you do different things on and outside of TeamLiquid.net and settle the ultimate questions right here and now, who is the most ESPORTS of all of your friends.
The goal is, of course, to not only boost our little internet-egos but to get users to dive in all the fun activities and features TeamLiquid.net and it's wonderful community has to offer.
*These are achievements that are no longer / not realistically achievable or cost money. This achievements give no points and are for bragging rights only.
I got only 220* (edited!) points and none of the fancy ones. I suppose my three will be "Stan", "Fanatic Takeover", and "That's Me in the Spotlight" ^^
Counting winning a live game of Mafia at an event -- not just forum-based :X EDIT2: Didn't notice I had a bronze coin, lol. EDIT3: Official shz ruling says photo posts count as "writing" a news article.
I got 60 130 (forgot about the t1 feature achievements ) points, all Tier 1, but as someone who hates achievements and loves getting them, I support this blog!
Also, shouldn't there also be a special achievement worth like 100 points or something for actually getting on the liquid roster?
120 from tier 1 90 from tier 2 100 from tier 3 10 from special Not sure if the PvZ guide counts as spotlight or TLFE if any of the two. I went with spotlight. My face was also on front page if that counts.

Then be it royally decreed.
I've added a note to the OP.

Oh damn. How could I forget? This one counts of course! Added to the OP.
It seems a bit staff heavy in the top 5, you're right.
Since I don't play SC2, and thus have no chance of getting TLPD/Stream/Strategy blue/ etc points, I guess all I can do is get a gold coin on LP. Oh wait... brb creating a fan club.
Kind of proud of this one :
edit: to 250 with the achievement Plexa added above. (anything for 200+ pages threads ? I could get some more points ) edit2 : I'm also going to write a food blog soon, argghhhh I hate achievements !
hmm, maybe add one for guys that work with TL staff, but aren't quite TL staff yet(Trial/Junior staff type of thing) For example, I work in the Dota 2 staff and write on the featured news. I believe that deserves some points, not 50, but some.

You just want more points!
maybe
But this would give you more as well, so don't complain.
edit: on another note, lots of random people will show up at events asking for hot_bid to photobomb them.
I have like 160, I think. If I've submitted like 50 different events on the calender do I get 500 points? Edit: Or a thread of over 20 pages. In fact, can any of these be duplicated?
Oh my, I only have 180. And only that much because I joined the staff and bought stuff from the store from europe. I think I gotta start achievement whoring or something.

Why do I only have 210 in the OP o_O? (Also by "image in Pony Tales" I mean an image I posted in a thread was included in Pony tales)
Also, clearly you should add points for writing news articles [not just news posts]
That wasn't intentional.
Image does count towards Pony Tales.
Achievement specified to news article.
one of my posts was used in pony tales so it counts right?
and do all my previous posting milestones count?
how come there isn't one for 20k, by the way can a mod double check if since my last offense ban all the way back in 2010 was a not warned/banned for at least a year, I don't think so.

Haha, I got 100, I think, I'm bad at this but at least better than you!
I have between 400 and 500 depending on which ones I qualify for. Is pony tales what kau did in the past? Then I have that one.. Do spotlighted post also count the articles on the front page in the old format? Or does only featured content count? Either way I think I've had two at the same time in the past.. Was the thing where pros got additional handicaps as they won games a TL attack? I don't think so, but if it was then I got those points too.
I'm gonna say 440 for now, but it may be higher or lower depending on whether I qualify for certain things. Awesome idea by the way!
Also I noticed I have 0 points in liquipedia achievements..
Damn it only 150 T_T This is completely going to consume my life too haha. Though for someone registered for a year and a half I think it might be pretty decent ^^
There is only featured news and spotlight, so get a blog featured and get spot-lighted on the front page would get me both the achievements when I had a blog featured ?

well with some people gets account banned with XXXX thousend posts, it could get frustrating ^^ (would pissed me of that liquid.twistet bans an acc from early 2005 2 years ago for nothing xD)
I've got 130 points, mostly due to me being fast on the trigger on a news piece once. Easy way to get a 80+ page thread + community news with no effort :>
I'm at 180, not bad since I've contributed in the BW section in the twilight of ProLeague. Not sure if I made an OP for an LR though, that bumps me to 200 if that's the case.
Also i could not find when i registered. Think i have the 2year achivement as well I think i have this one too but not sure ? After asking. I have this too

Does this one means i have CREATED a thread and it went on more than 20pages ? Does it means to have reported someone ? This one i'm sure i don't have but i don't understand how you can check it ? (maybe to help other who could have it) I don't get this one at all

1. One thread with over 20 pages. Not 20 threads with 1 page. 2. To have, successfully (ie banned or warned), reported someone. 3. If you had a bronze coin, it would show up under your post, like my gold coins do under mine. 4. Check Ver's background here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=361656 The blue background means, that he knows his stuff and you can trust his guides and tips for SC 2 strategy.
What about having super Achievements or something like that, for having the most Posts or having the highest rated Blog and stuff like that. Creating the longest lasting thread that is still active. All that kind of stuff. That would be pretty cool

Yeah, I didn't expect to get a lot of points. But the two showcased are what I like the most. (Partially because I love my Steal, Spirit, Swarm shirts.) Guess I should work on the blog bits... I keep telling myself I'm going to write one but never do.
Perhaps in the future, an achievement system like this could be integrated into the website and to your account. Some can be made automatic, while others would need to be awarded via admin or some kind of achievement mod. Perhaps keep a counter next to your post count with a new tab in your profile listing the achievements you currently have.
Could even include special prizes for the more constructive or helpful achievements in the form of an unlockable portrait or some other kind of small little distinguishable icon.

This sounds awful. Your posting and behavior should earn you respect by themselves.
Imagine the easy achievements like make and update a livereport thread, write a girl/good blog or *getting your name changed*. An achievement system integrated integrated into the site would invite spam and/or elitism(I got featured in ponytales, noob), depending on whether the achievements are easy or "rare". Also it would put a number on you which new people might mistake for your level of contribution. Let it stay a fun little thread, nothing more.

People do all of that already based off of post count and date joined. The reward idea was meant to be only applied to those achievements which are genuinely constructive. That inherent subjectivity means just because you updated a live report thread once doesn't me you get the achievement, it would be given to those who repeatedly help out.
I don't even mind if you got rid of the post count or simple achievements. But I do think a little carrot at the end of a stick to get more community members involved is not the worst idea in the world. It would be more productive and indicative of meaningful participation and contribution than post counts.
I can't speak from experience, but I suspect those individuals who are awarded the quality poster star give a little extra thought each time they post and maybe even contribute just a little bit more then if they were not recognized for their input.
90. Nothing worth mentioning. Lots of posts, over 2 years, had a year "spotless" (but since March this year got 3 warnings, which I'm not very proud of). Thanks to this I just realized that Mafia can be played not live. I thought it's only played live. Never reported anyone, by the way, not sure why - I often see posts that deserve to be reported, but... just don't wanna do it.
edit: Couldn't help but laugh at Megaliskuus suggestion to award points for the most bans because "not many people have done that". That's right, gotta get them achievement points for being assholes!
Also, we need to make a cool kids club for all Ancient Xel Nagas.

Yeah no. With the somewhat recent influx of more broad topics I don´t value a high post count by itself. There has already been a similar blog dedicated to how to inflate your post count without technically breaking spam rules. That guide does not even include TL Mafia which easily can get you a dozen posts per day.

Yes, you have to check it yourself / ask a mod maybe to check if you have been warned in the last year (if you are not sure).
On the point of having achievements for most posts and things like that: The idea of these achievements is, that you earn and keep them. Milestones you reach. If you have achievements for "most posts" or something like this, you have the possibility to lose them. Also, it should be, at least theoretically, possible to get every achievement. For example, someone suggested to make a achievement for posting in the forums before SC2 beta was out. This is something I would not like to implement, as it's excludes people from some of the achievements, and therefore maybe leads to losing interest to participate. This would contradict the idea of this thread.
StarCraft II has achievements called "Feats of Strength" which don't award points, maybe it would be possible to add some stuff, that is not achieveable anymore. I'll think about that.

To be honest SeekeR, I'm surprised Fanatic Takeover isn't one of your top 3 achievements, because that is something you are quite well known for as the lord of the fan clubs, defender of every players right to have a fan club not fall into the red zone
I honestly don't know how to find which day I became a member of TL, so I'm either at 80 points personally or 100 points, (the one year+ spotless if I've been here a year at least). I'd also add 10 points if playing in a TSL qualifier was enough to get challenger approaching as I played in a TSL qualifier, (and blew an advantage in round one that would've in all likelihood given me the chance to lose to Bly)

Needs an achievement for being #1 Poster, in my humble opinion. Should be worth like a million points
New Category: Feats of Strength These are achievements that are no longer / not realistically achievable or cost money. This achievements give no points and are for bragging rights only.
Know-it-all: Since TL-Knowhow got discontinued and thus made it impossible to earn this achievement, it has been set to 0 points and moved to Feats of Strength.
Nav-comm locked (US) Renamed to Nav-comm locked, moved to Feats of Strength and set to 0 points. This is something that costs directly money.
Nav-comm locked (EU) Removed because the EU-Store is online.
Don't Blink... or you'll miss me! Moved to Feats of Strength and set to 0 points. This depends too much on being at an event and on another person actually doing this.
