I'm very proud to announce that a project I've been working on during the last year, inspired by this thread (Yeard blog), has reached its conclusion. To the amusement of some, and the dejection of others (hi mom!), I've let my beard grow wild for a full year (thankfully I work in a field where I can look as shaggy as I want to, unlike the TL member who got me started, and my boss belongs in the amused category). I've always been a big beard fan, so the concept really aroused my interest. Without further ado, may I present to you the end result:
Personally, I rather like it. It feels nice, and I honestly think I look silly (sillier?) when I'm clean-shaven. Anywho, whaddya think?

You should shave off an inch a day from both sides, eg get rid of sideburns first, then start working in so you have a smaller and smaller beard every day. See if anyone notices.
If you're going to do away with it, do it in the most creative and excessive way possible. For me, when I have something I really like, but I've got to part ways, I like to get the most out of it. Now, your beard is much nicer, and deserving of more respect and care than my magnet creations, but the moment I really relish is when I've made something really cool with my NeoMag balls, and then I destroy it gratuitously.
So be creative in its elimination! As long as you're in a phase where you can get away with looking silly on a day to day basis (so, job/recruitment not there yet) dye it Electric Blue, inbraid some (lit) sparklers for a halloween party, brush it out with foam till it looks like Hermionie, and make some sort of sculpture out of it. When you're done, you can do some beard art too!
