This I'm sure led to more people having to ask when they play their match, I know usually I can figure it out on my own very easily but had to keep checking this time, I'm sure I wasn't alone.

At one event my feet were sore, and I plopped down next to her to keep her company, because while she does talk to a lot of people during the event, very few of it is positive social interactions. People come up to her, including pro players, and snipe at her if she doesn't have the information they need immediately. On top of that people mingle there and wander around there all the time so it is really hard to find out who actually wants to talk to her if you don't just go "Excuse me, insert question here". There is a reason that no one wants to take her job now that she is done. The FGC is chill as hell and don't really care, hang and out and relax the whole time. League only really has to deal with about 8ish people, since the brackets are all shown immediately because it is only 8 teams. SC2 however is 256 + people that need to know where they need to be, as well as hundreds of spectators that also demand where their favorites are playing, most of the time in a rude way. It is known as one of the worst jobs since she can't even watch anything from where she is sitting, not even the main stages because the board is blocking it. As to invading her personal space, as an example, just because you see someone hug another person, when you do no know both people, do you immediately assume that you can go hug said person? Leaning over into her laptop screen is the same thing, there is a very small personal comfort zone for her, but you cross that when leaning into the screen. Sure some of us can even sneak up behind her in the booth and hug her, but that is because we are actually her friends, but that doesn't mean she would feel comfortable if you did either. Her screen often has confidential information on it, so unless she has it set up with those windows closed, you are also violating her NDA, which this time it doesn't really matter since she was done after her 25th event because she is moving on in her life, in previous events could have cost her her job. EDIT: Just to note, I am not a big name to be given preferential treatment, nor am I even a competitor. I am a fan that realizes than this poor women gets the shit shie of the stick.

For those who assume I acted irrationally towards her at the event should think before they point fingers. I was 100% polite with her when I asked about my position on the bracket and opponent.. Sure I leaned over the table, but I only did so because I saw others doing it and having no repercussions. I'm sure shes a great person and might have been under some stress at the time which is understandable.. But as JimmyJRaynor said this sort of stuff isn't acceptable if we want to take E-Sports to the next level. Let's just take this whole experience as a lesson learned, and not grab pitch forks. Anyway I am glad that "Kaila" posted saying that in fact she doesn't treat competitors fairly. Glad she could swallow her pride and post that. I understand how difficult her job can be, but you know what they say? If you can't handle the heat stay out the kitchen. Maybe she should consider that before putting herself in such a position of power. Anyway, thanks for making such a great discussion out of a blog I thought nobody would read! enjoy

Can't wait to see Championship Sunday!! ^^ Sure sounds like you were trying to get her fired, not sure why you felt the need to throw in an obvious lie. I'd love to believe that you acted like you did but you just proved that you're not above lying.

I wanted to address the second part of your comment. I was never inside her "bubble." from where I was standing while leaning over to see the screen she was more than an arms length away. Second of all I never knew she met TheSTC before Raleigh.. As far as I know that was his first MLG experience.. But he was wearing his Quantic Jersey so I guess that automatically makes him a friend, thus allowing him to invade her "bubble" ? I'm confused about your comment, because you have absolutely no clue what happened, nor did you see it. So why are making a post assuming I invaded her "space" ? Sounds like your grabbing at something that isnt there in an attempt to make me look like a creep... ask anyone who knows or met me at MLG. I am a super nice guy that treats everyone the same way I want to be treated, and thats with respect.

I am a super nice guy that treats everyone the same way I want to be treated, and thats with respect. You don't sound like a super nice guy. I'm not saying you sound like a jackass, because you're not, but your natural reaction is clearly to assert your own personal values before trying to be empathetic. Personal space is not a measurement of distance, it is purely about imposing on someone's comfort level. A table, a counter, a door to an office, these are all boundaries that are in place to separate people. You could be 20 feet away from me, but if you step into the room that is "mine", you've crossed into my personal space. Leaning over a table that is someone's designated work space is infringing on their personal space. TheSTC is Korean, on a pro team, and well known. All of those combined makes him difficult to communicate with normally. You wouldn't talk to your boss the same that you'd speak to a co-worker, and you wouldn't take liberties with a co-worker you just met as opposed to one you've known for several years. Stating that it's "favouritism" is only true in that people with established repertoires can get away with more. It's an unfortunate fact of life, if only because it's difficult to speak your mind to someone who is "above you". But when you get right down to it, the simple fact of this matter is that you had different treatment than someone else, and this entire Blog is about you assuming the reasons. There are only two things that are objective here: 1) You did not talk to the person at the table, and were ignored. Two players did talk to her, and they were acknowledged. 2) She didn't tell them to stop leaning over the table. She told you to stop. Everything else is your opinion.

Yeah, I replied and quoted his original text, apparently that was twisting his words. I like how he's so defensive when he's the one that did nothing wrong. I also think he was genuinely surprised that Kaila is a TL member, hah. Most MLG employees that I know of are TL members, at least superficially.

That's cool. I see now that you were talking about Korean players. My Korean knowledge is very limited, even more limited than their English skills. The fact that you are upset that I was treating a non-English speaking person in a different manner than yourself is pretty stupid. That's all that needs to be said about that.
