I've started reading The Art of Learning again. This time, I'm making notes and highlighting bits that I find interesting. I think there's a lot I can get out of this book in terms of making improvements in my life as a whole, rather than just in SC2 or whatever. Already I'm drawing connections between issues Josh Waitzkin identifies in the book and my own life.
Anywho.
I haven't had much interesting to say in terms of SC2 lately because I haven't been playing a large number of games, and I'm largely still just getting used to doing a hatch-first build. I will say that I notice that end up doing base races far too often. I have to learn to shore up my defenses at home when I have a slow-moving late-game army consisting of brood lords.
(An hour or two later...)
A few really great games tonight, and one ZvZ where I totally forgot to build my baneling nest, just got stomped. Highlight of this evening was a match against a Protoss where I remembered to expand when it was appropriate, and even ended up doing a multi-pronged attack! Yay!

Did you do the multi pronged attach with roaches or mutas? Depending on the map, either can be effective. I think its the best way to counter an early 3rd, and even sometimes win outright

Well, my current strategy essentially boils down to "defend until brood lords, attack, and replenish supply with ultralisks", so the multi-pronged attack ended up being reinforcement ultras on one side and broodlords/corruptors on the other. I am very bad at remembering to remake infestors, hehe.
I haven't yet started incorporating mutas into my play. They'd require a level of APM to use effectively that I just don't have to spare at this point.
