So I might be getting this car sometime in the near future. I wanted to know if anyone here has actually driven the car or has heard of anything good/bad about it. I am aware that the Scion FR-S is the same car, but I like the Subaru better in terms of aesthetics and more options.
I would also like some comparisons at the price range if you feel there is another car that is worth looking into. I know right now that I can also get the Hyundai Genesis Coupe for a similar price which has a lot more horse power, but a) I'm not very critical on horsepower as I'm not looking to race or anything and b) I hear that the Subaru BRZ handles far superior.
Also, I currently drive a 2011 Kia Forte Koup (higher trim) and have previously driven a 2010 Mazda 3 (base model). How would the Subaru differ from these two cars?

The difference is that the two cars you have previously driven/owned are "sporty" cars while this car is designed specifically to be a sports car, which means it will be less practical ( for arguments sake the BRZ is the more practical super handling sports cars i.e. Mazda Miata or Nissan Z 370). From what I have read it is sold out in the US and there are still wait orders for it. The Scion/Toyota FR-S is the bare bone model, which is probably going to be easier to get your hands on (if you really want the car). The VW GTI is still a very good car, if you want a car like this. The main complain is that the BRZ needs to be rev'd high to be a "good" sports car.

yikes I hope it isnt sold out in Canada

I don't know anyone with the BRZ but I do have one friend who managed to snag the FR-S and she absolutely loves it. The Kia Forte Koup and Mazda 3 are economy cars with a little bit of sportiness. The BRZ/FR-S are sports cars with a little bit of economy. There's no comparison.

This looks like a cool car, that being said, it looks like you live in canada, I live in new england (north east USA) and driving a rear wheel drive car here int he winter is a nightmare. this car is rear wheel drive not awd (like the rest of the subaru line) so i'd be careful about that.
otherwise seems neat.
