First Prime, then GSL, now Losira. No one is safe.
During the MLG Summer Arena, Day 2 ended with the most glorious of spectacles: A nuke. But this was no ordinary nuke on a hatchery. It was a “randomly” launched nuke which somehow intersected with the Broodlord/infestor ball that Zerg was maneuvering. Taeja had somehow managed to trick Losira into walking into the path of the nuke. And when it landed, the mushroom cloud vaporized a handful of broodlords and a cluster of infestors. Glorious. There was incredible build up and then…victory. In honor of this incredible moment, I decided to create the following:
Tal’darim Altar Marines, medivacs, bio Broodlords, infestors
Ghost Academy Nuclear launch detected Day9 is giddy
Where is it landing? Apollo thinks it’s nowhere Day9 giddier
Red dot is blinking Broodlords, infestors wiggling Red circle growing
Zerg doom army crawls Mushroom cloud forms overhead Day9’s ecstatic
Nuclear Launch Detected.
Oh and then just to make a point, Taeja nuked Losira’s southern expansion. You know, to make a nuclear exclaimation point that he won.
So does anyone else have a nuking that they remember fondly?
Boxer vs Elky during the WCG 2001 finals. Boxer nukes Elky's main 12 o'clock on Lost Temple. I didn't see it live of course, but I remember watching it later and thinking, "wow, what a finish".

I gotta say that game 1 of the TL v MVP ipl marauder cheese was so perfect. honestly a boxer-esque cheese. his timing on planting that rax was right when the scv made it.

that build was just so perfectly executed gotta give him mad props
tbh, nukes are super underused. Ghost tech is never really far away, especially in TvP when you can just research it and pretty much go. Nukes underrated.
Everyone remembers Bisu's Ultimate Proxy which made Pokju retire from Progaming.
What about Casy's Nuke rush vs Jy, which also made his opponent to retire (bitter sweet i guess) Linked to highlights video to actual time. The only available vod from match is french cast.
I don't think it was that random of a nuke, I think he saw the Broods coming launched it and knew Bl are sluggish and killed them. But ya nice little read, Taeja was soo good in Arena!
