I was looking around for glitches and I stumbled upon this site which has some of the best tips I've ever seen....
Easy wins:

When you start, make the Star Gate as fast as possible. Do not bother with any
ground units. Then, build Carriers and upgrade their attack, defense, and the
number of Intersecters they can hold. Build at least four to five Star Gates
and as many Carriers as possible. In a few minutes you have an army that is
almost invincible.
Best way with terran:

Get 10 scvs make a supply depot as soon as u have money make a barrck and a bunker
plave 5 marines later in the game make a semi circle around enemy base with siege
tanks and attack inside with fire bats and stuff.
How to pawn the enemy with the protoss:
---------------------------------------
Start by making ten mine workers. Then symply mine for minerals with nine of them
as soon as you can go to your enemy's base and start building canons in their
territory. When your oponent stops making unit to attack your canons make 5 dark
templars and attack the enemy's mine workers after they are all dead symply destroy the base.

If you are a newbie, the best thing you have to do to learn, is to play the
missions. Ask the pro players, the learned this way, mostly. To play melee
games against the comuper is good also, but only is the beggining, because
the computer might seem good, but when you learn how to play, you may easily
beat 7 computers at once. Never use cheats, or hacks neither,
because it will only make the game worst, and you will never stop using it.
For last, always have a strategy, concentrate on making only 2 kinds of units for instance,
like when i am with the Zerg, i always make Mutalisks, and only that.

WTF....is that site......beating 7 comps doesnt mean your good, just means u can turtle and abuse the ai, lol just lol also nice to see the first strat (if u can call it that) is 1 base mass carrier with no cannons no ground units......RIGHT well following this guide i'm gonna go hit the iccup server and see if i can get to C+ casue obviously i've been playing the game completey wrong maybe these strats will give me the boost i need
edit: i went to check out the site and WTF seriouly WTF is wrong with these guys

Saving money:

If you run out of Minerals, move the Command Center to a mineral field. Bring
an SCV to the back of the mineral field. Build a Barracks, crank out the units
and attack. Click on a Barracks then press M for marines and F for firebots.
Click on an SCV. Click "Build" then press B for Bunker, S for Supply Depot,
and T for Turrets.
Firebots are my favorite unit.

ive seen quite a few peruvians use this strategy from time to time.

Always carry 1 scv with every drop ship so that in the event you run into exactly 1 scourge you can repair and continue on your way.
