Well i changed my FB pic to Chewbacca so i doubt anybody will find my picture using FB, and actually i should switch my name with somebodies else.

Since game don't start till next week, I suggest you visit other dorms and get familiarize with the people there. So you at least have an idea where some people stay and use those contacts to find your target. You should have your friend help set up the person you are trying to tag. Have your friend talk to him and then set him up to be tagged by you.

Use this: http://www.buffalo.edu/directory/ to get their email.
Look them up on facebook, and see what kind of information is there. Things like majors/area of study could be useful.
Next use: http://pipl.com/
Look up their email, and their name. Looking up their email, could reveal other online profiles, that could contain information you want. Looking up their name, can bring something up, maybe a picture if they have some old profile, or were photographed and named for something that was uploaded online, if they took down their facebook one.
If you can find something that says what kind of courses they're doing, you could probably get them coming out of a class and follow them back to the dorms.
Another option, is to make fake email accounts, and try to set up some kind of meeting or something. Say you're from the school newspaper, and you're writing something about living in the dorms, or even the assassin game, and want to meet and talk. Pretend you found something they lost, and want to return it. Another option, is to try to contact one of their friends through email or facebook, to see if they'll unwittingly give you information. Just remember to make a fake email/profile, and not to use your real one.
Those are just ideas off the top of my head, if I wanted to gather as much information on someone as I could using online means.

Don't you have one of those intranet pages where all the students are listed, with stuff like name, photo, course, room n°? If so changing your FB picture won't save you.

Try to get info from friends or something about the person. Find out their class schedule and get it down. Predict his walking methods and camp somewhere for him to walk by. Then sock him. :D
Change name on dorm. FB wont work, ur pictures can be accessed, so a profile pic wont work unless you delete every picture of you. xD
And switching names wont work either. That person might also be on the list and you might get socked by someone else. Of course it won't count, but ur cover will be blown xD. Try wearing a hoody at all times.
Sock everyone, ur bound to get some1 xD

Fake your own death, with a story relating to your game; in that you died trying to hit your target "____". Then at your funeral "____" will turn up, feeling guilty for having been partly involved in your death... at which point you pop out of your coffin and tag that person with your sock.
Fool proof.
