Did you ever hate other players for what they do? Not playing fair in your eyes, doing lame moves just to gain frags or score points? I see it all the time. That's one of the reasons why I've been against playing public servers. The lower you get in skill level and the more public a game is (i.e. let's say public -> pickup/gather -> practice -> official -> finals) the more cheap players get.
For the last few days I've started to play some iCombo on a public server by Multiplay.uk again. I really enjoy the server. The mod is brilliant and the map votes are ok. Sure, there are some no-brainer maps like w00t or andAction, but apart from that the server got all I want for a few hours of bashing faces.
I'm a traditional CTF player converted TDM player into multi-MODs. In all the mods I played I've seen a ton of cheap tricks, but what bugs me most nowadays is doing stand-combos without any ounce of skill or brainpower. It drives me insane to be honest. I keep on playing instagib mostly, as the combo is a good side-weapon for covering chokes or covering your retreat. The amount of players standing in crucial entrances and spamming their life out of combos is truly amazing, even in cases there is no immediate purpose to it but to gain frags and feel good. It's truly sad.
I will keep on fighting stand-combos.
So the motto is: Save the game, learn to aim and do move combos bi**hes. ;-)
Enough for the rant.

I have no idea what game you're talking about.

The objective is victory within the games mechanics. If you don't like the 'cheap shit', either become better than them using what may or may not be more viable means for high level play, or play a game that doesn't have the 'cheap shit'. That goes for any game. I have no idea what the game you're playing is.

It'd be nice if you linked that blog in your OP or simply stated what game you were talking about, TL blogs get a lot of traffic and it's unrealistic to expect people to have read your previous blogs. I even looked at your blog page to see if your recent posts were about the game you mentioned in the OP, but I found no clues. Your last entry (a month ago) was about the single player of Unreal Tournament and it's hard to make the leap from that post to this one where you're talking about multiplayer mods.

What exactly constitutes a "lame move" or "cheap trick" in UT? Outside of camping the spawn locations, I don't really see how it's possible to be BM in a FPS (outside of the shit-talking sort of BM, I mean).
What's a stand combo? Why is it bad?

Just learn to beat the cheap shit. If cheap shit is OP then use it...it's just a bad game then.

or you could click the blog link in the top right of the box. It there so you can see his past blogs but i do agree he should have mentioned the game. But in no way does he need to link his last blogs when you get a whole list by clicking the blog button.

That's exactly what I did. I even spent time clicking through some of them to try and find what game he was talking about. I couldn't guess. It's reasonable to ask to a link to previous blogs, he's even done it in one of the blogs I clicked on when I was trying to figure out what game he was talking about.
I was just trying to give him advice.

My bad. I will link previous blogs in the future.

What's a stand combo? Why is it bad? A stand combo is a combo done with the shock rifle (shoot a shock ball and hit it with the shock beam to get a big explosion). It's a matter of personal taste really and a matter of skill. Good players don't do stand combos but are able to do them while moving. That's the difference.
The BM is in exploiting choke points and respawn locations excessively just to gain frags. iCombo is a capture the flag mod so there are two immediate purposes, either capture the enemy flag or defend your own. But respawn killing excessively is a tactic which is BM to 99% of the community. I mean there are exceptions, I can respawn kill too, e.g. I cover the retreat of my flagcarrier, but those people just stand around in the respawn rooms and spam combos to gain score. It's for their egos not for the game.
