Windows 7 Problem

hi TL!
let me start by wishing you all on a happy new years! :D
(yeah it's a bit late, i was busy recently

)

So recently i reinstalled win7, and i chose custom install, wanting to delete my old files and things (lots of junk :x). but what happened was I installed it on a different partition the first time, so i ended up booting everytime with the 'which windows 7 do you want to boot in' window. Also the previous version of windows was not deleted or changed into the 'windows.old' file, so i reinstalled it again onto the original partition

does this affect my performance? will it slow my pc down?
and if it does, how can i delete it?

so... you are saying you have two fresh windows 7 installs on two separate partitions?

I dont think it slows down your computer, but it does take around 10 GB extra space on your HDD. What I'd do in your position, I'd move all the files from D drive to C drive (only media and document files) and format drive D. After that I'd move those files back to D. If you have programs installed on D you should leave them there, format and reinstall them again either on C or D.

It won't affect your performance but it will clutter your drive and may cause confusion, especially if programs want to put files on the other partition.
If you are going to delete a partition, please make sure you don't delete your primary partition. My friend did this and ended up with an unbootable PC cause he only had a logical partition.

Best solution is to completely wipe your system partition (do not forget to backup your important files) and do a fresh install of OS onto it.

can someone help me please....i have windows 7 on laptop...and when i enter brood war through ICCUP launcher (no window mode)...with the screen resolution window opened to fix the color issue, it shows the game in a little square in the middle of the screen...a square roughtley half the cercumferince of the actual laptop screen.......
i've evan used window mode..and selecter ( x2 )..so that it makes the game image larger.....and now, the window mode settings are unreachable by mouse, having made the window mode screen larger then the actual laptop screen,....if that make's sence...i apologise bdw for my english, i'm roumanian....all that leads to my question....
......-is there any way to make the game screen ( SC BW ) as if on windows XP
- i've evan tried lowering the screen resolution to it's minimum 800x600 ...it dose no good, it shrinkes the screen entirely

Broodwar runs in 640x480, so changing it to 800x600 still isn't small enough for it to not shrink the screen. I've been able to run similar programs in 640x480 mode with windows 7 by right clicking the .exe file > troubleshoot compatibility > troubleshoot program > the program opens but doesn't display properly > program starts in a small window (640x480) and won't switch to full screen > start the program. Hopefully that works for you, good luck.

yep...i've figure'd it out.... ty Ixtlilton bdw........by just simpley swiching the screen resolution to 800x600 when you play SC BW ( on windows 7 ) ...it work's just fine, the game image fits perfectley into the screen......
..........hopefully this thread helps other people who has this same dificulty
