Since 2007 i've been responsible for bringing Dutch and Belgium gamers to DreamHack. What started out being 16 guys in 2 vans and a car grew into 150 people using two double decker tour buses. And it all started with a little forum post somewhere in May of 2007.

I was asking around if more people wanted to visit the biggest LAN event in the world, DreamHack Winter. I had gone in 2006 with a friend and was blown away by the cheer size of the event. I wanted to go again, it's something like a virus that hits you. The atmosphere, the swedish people, heck the girls. All was just right for a guy loving to play on his computer, game a little and download using the then 20gbit internet line they had. So I found 15 others that wanted to see this event with their own eyes and it was not for long that Intel all of the sudden called me.

They wanted to sponsor the trip. What do you do? You accept, duh. A website was made, a video team was also put in place and not for long we departed holland and drove all the way to Jönköping to have fun for a weekend. Ever since I kept in the loop with Intel and we went again in 2008. Come 2009 another organisation proposed to do a full touring bus, me already having contacts with Intel became the tourleader ever since and with 77 people we drove off again.

Then Summer 2010, Winter 2010 and Summer 2011 came and we did all those events with a single touringbus. This year was different however. With the DreamHack AMD Sapphire competition coming to an (explosive i may add) end and Intel releasing their new beast the I7 3960XM into the world we had to go extreme. Not just 75 people from the Netherlands. 150 was the number we wanted. And for 99 euro's for a ticket they sold out like hot dogs in New York during lunch break at Wall Street.

It was a crazy weekend, how ever I was a bit too busy following the whole SC2 deal I went into the DreamArena that last Saturday and had an experience like never before. 4000 people shouting, gasping for air and yelling the names of their favorite starts. It was beyond epic. When Boss DH (Robert Ohlen) came on stage in his Marine armor suit there was even more epicness. What I would do for a picture of me inside that suit.

During the stay in Sweden we also made several video's about our experiences with Sweden, DreamHack and many other things, a list below:

We will be going again in the Summer, so if you are from the Benelux and want to come with us check out www.pack4dreamhack.com . If your not, enjoy our content and blogs about our experiences this year and in the upcoming years!

The drive is anywhere in between 15 and 20 hours, we always tell our visitors about 18. We did the part to DreamHack in 15 this year, the part back was a bit harder with the hards winds and the storm going on and we clocked 19 hours.

Intel finding me is a funny story. I set up a forum for us 16 guys going to DH and I got an email from an advertising company, they wanted my contact details and all of the sudden the Marketing Manager from Intel was calling me One lunch later and it was settled.

Looks awesome, sounds nice, doing a great job overall. Don't really know what else to say
Next year 3 or 4 touring cars?

I think this is about the max for the sponsors. We sell trip trip for 99 euros, so you can imagine Intel & the other sponsors are paying a big sum above that to make this possible. The ticket prize to DreamHack alone is like 85 euros, and then the goodies we give to the packers (hoodie, sleeping kit, intel hat and an pack4dreamhack fleece blanket) and the trip itself. It's a lot of money but a lot of fun
