Yes it's wrong.
Not waiting for GG, at least for a few seconds, basically means you don't want reassurance that no matter how bad you think you played, your opponent still had fun in the game, and in fact you hate positive reinforcement because it makes you feel good, aka you hate feelings of elation and/or a general positive state of mind and are therefore and emo bitch and/or you hate yourself.
tl;dr: you hate yourself

I can't speak for everyone but when I gg back after my opponent gg'ed it is either me telling them that they did play well and I enjoyed the game or it is just rigid muscle memory reaction to my opponent saying gg. There is never any negative thought/emotion towards my opponent behind it.
Edit: Well, maybe a little snicker to myself if they were really cheesy, but still nothing too negative.

GG
I feel bad posting just that, it'll probably get me a warning. I thought it would be funny though as you said 'GG therapy where tonnes of people spam you with GG'. But anyway, I only ever gg someone back if i believe they truly played a game worth ebing proud of. Forever silver here speaking, but I do have some decent fun and challenging games at my level. However when I lose I also leave as soon as I type 'GG' for similar reasons, I fear the other player smirking over their win. And it is a horrible thought.

You can just alt+q+q for a more hasty finish to the game. Or alt+x+x for ragequit

You should be able to configure something to change that. I know that was the first thing I did after I found out my Dell laptop has this.
I'd assume saying good game started as a sign of respect after a game ended, either congratulating the winner or the winner congratulating the loser for putting up a tough fight.
Now it seems to be an obligation like saying "thank you" and even meaning "it's over" or "all is lost" because it's usually said after everything is over.
I for one can recall that the first time I someone typed gg about 5 years ago or so it felt like a sign of respect ...
So, unless it's an offensive gg, there shouldn't be anything to be hurt about.

I find this diagnosis accurate.

Wow, I can't believe this is my first post in TL, ever, registered like ages ago.
Anyways, I might seem bad mannered, but I'm not. Whenever I lose a game, I just forget to GG, completely. All I do is just f10+n and click find match, (mainly because I'm pissed off at the fact that I lost) yet I actually do rage more than any person I've ever known/heard of. (Not ingame or anything necessarily, but have broken a keyboard :<)

I expect the same to be done to me. I no likes rage quits It's not a rage quit necessarily. The custom isn't a hard rule. GG'ing ppl after they've left a game is basically bad manners. You're effectively rubbing it in, exactly the type of GG the OP is worried about. It's only a step below offensive gg'ing.
Also to the guy who hides shit when he loses because his opponent doesn't gg back - this is just a way to make yourself annoyed man. I used to do that when I first started playing bw "Oh the guy won't gg back? Fine time to hide shit. Fucker" In fact its a common reason people type gg and immediately leave. To stop themselves getting annoyed (at least initally - obviously later you just get used to it).

See, jerks like you are why I offensive GG all the time. I just want you to know that I enjoyed the game. Why won't you let me???
|
Haha I'm like the exact opposite. When I win and my opponent says gg, I don't always reply immediately if I'm in the middle of doing something and I'm not sure if I've completely won yet, and then I feel bad if they leave before I can reply gg. This doesn't really apply to the gg-instaleave, just when people gg and then wait awhile (or hit menu and quit really slowly).

really? ur gonna hate me then. I usually add ? to my gg and i do it b4 they gg
|
I never GG when I win... I kinda find that offensive. Although I've noticed some people don't leave until I say gg, so I do it then.
If you try to leave before he says gg, just hit f10 + n immediately after saying gg to quit the game.

This guy is right on the money!

The other day, some guy on NA ladder GG'd for me. His bad luck was, that I was considerably drunk, so I gave him a shitstorm for it. He still kept being a jerk about it though. I don't see why people have to be such jerks about it. As long as you are not purposedly delaying the inevitable (like Terrans flying their stuff to the corner on the map), people shouldn't just be jerks to each other and simply respect their opponents.
I'm not going to go with the clichee saying 'It's just a game', because some people do take it seriously and put their hearts on line when SC2 is concerned, however, a simple respect & courtesy shouldn't be excluded from it, no matter what.

Offensive gg = floating buildings

It makes sense to me. I don't like it either. Forget what gg actually means, its basically you saying I lost, you win. In most things in life when you lose..you just lose. You don't admit defeat or congratulate random people who beat you. Then them saying gg is back like yup..you DID lose, and yup, I DID win. Its admitting defeat and your opponent agreeing with it. It's not a great feeling. Even if they usually don't mean it in a negative way, it still comes down to that. So yeah..it hurts the ego a bit.

tl;dr: you hate yourself Agreed. I think this wanting to quit really fast before your opponent types gg back basically means that your attitude towards losing a game of SC2 is something along the lines of "Damn, I have been utterly humiliated by this random person on the internet, I'd better run away now." I just think that's not a very healthy attitude to have.

I don't understand why not. I generally wait a few seconds to see if they say anything and then leave.
literally a few seconds I don't wait long cause I find THAT is bm. lol Unless I want to scout their natural/3rd or something with an observer, in which case I let the other person know lol
|
I think a lot of it is the state of mind you are in. I also do the gg f10N or if im totally cool with the loss (straight up outplayed), I'll give them a second to respond. When I do do the fast gg/leave, one thing irritates me more than fucking anything in the world, and I can't even explain it. When your opponent pms you gg afterwards. Like I literally just fucking lose it, and most of the time It will have been some mistake I made or something I misread in the game, but shit it makes me see red.
|
I gg when the game is over, regardless of whether I won or lost or of whether you are aware it's over or not.
