Sorry to see you go. Shouldn't let others thoughts and opinions effect you so much, though. Hope this was for your own reasons and not someone else's. Good luck!

It's ridiculous to think that SC is the only game that people who do not play will watch. I watch quake and cs1.6 as much as I can but I play neither of those games.

Milkis! Don't Leave! D: This is like 50 pages in and maybe you'll never read it, but I have nothing but respect for you. Esports wouldn't be esports without you. I wish I could say something to undo all the haters hating ;_;

I hope you come back. <3

Hello Milkis!

Welcome to life in the spotlight. You need to learn how to ignore the haters & troll or you'll never survive as someone "known" in e-sports. I think there's plenty of people out there who think you do an outstanding job, and I don't think you should quit just because you get a bunch of retards hating on you on an internet forum.

I think I speak for everyone who's had even the slightest touch of "fame" (maybe e-sports fame is more appropriate) when I say that this stuff happends, and will continue to happen, as long as you are out there doing stuff in fronts of thousands of people. Everyone is on hybris behind a computer, they think they know it all, and how to perform x task ten times better than you. You either realize 99% of these people are full of crap and just ignore them, or you let them drag you down and quit.

I say fuck the haters and come back!

Wait a minute, you agree with him? You think sc2 is not an esport?

This is probably to be honest just a drama gone crazy due to influential people like DJWheat going on a direct quite abusive (in terms of just language used) retort to Milkis' post. What I really cannot stand is how someone soo well known (DJWheat, Zlasher) can attack someone for simply posting their opinion.

I do not get this ONE bit. Sure start a discussion, but because someone said that they do not think your previous "idols" were as great as what you hold as your standards as the proper idol you decide to post a reply in which you KNOW everyone will jump behind due to your "e-fame power". I mean I pose this question to wheat if he likes posing such a question to Milkis: Why are you attacking someone with so much hostility in your posts when he has posted his opinion?

edit- Anyone realize this horrible drama is stemmed of as mentioned in my post Wheat's reply in reddit. Anyone also realize that Wheat has completely jumped off the wagon in terms of what Milkis was saying and what Wheat was replying to?

I mean Milkis really in no way undermined what the players in the sports have done themselves as to what Wheat seems to have taken out of that post (He seems to understand Milkis has spent majority of the post trying to convey a picture of a nice big middle finger to all other progamers). Milkis was more or less talking about how if you split up the games and the people that view those games the way in which the entirety of the systems works are on two total levels where majority of the games are still not at the level that bw has reached as the pinnacle of true esports (this is me changing up some words to shorten a lengthy opinion) which really isn't what wheat seemed to have taken out of this.

Just thought it was worth adding in the reaction of someone else who's gotten a lot of criticism recently.

Since his Blizzcon appearance JP's been getting a decent bit of slack about his commentating.

http://twitter.com/#!/itmeJP <--- Check his reaction to finding out about his Sean-o-meter video. I'm not saying that he's gotten even nearly as much bad press as Milkis has, but his reaction to that has genuinely turned me into a fan of his.

Just something to consider, if Milkis had simply said "yeah fuck it, what I wrote was pretty harsh, but despite taking on board some of the criticisms, I still believe I was right that BW is the only game that can truly say it's reached that elusive goal of being considered a real 'sport' " ... people would have forgotten about the whole thing in a few days.

I don't think your personal anecdote that you watch some games compares to say, 100,000 people watching a Proleague finals live. And obviously you are still a gamer after all right, we're talking about an entirely different audience here.

That's what the whole thing is about, and that is Milkis position. You're calling the people who argued against him haters, trolls, and retards so I can only assume you agree with Milkis that SC2 is not, in fact, an esport.

Milkis I'm sorry to see you go, I've been a fan of all the work you've done for the community and eSports in general. I even tried to get your autograph at an MLG once. I have nothing but respect for you for all the work you've done and if you feel you need to take a step back for awhile then that is your choice to make. Hopefully you will return to doing more awesome work for the community and eSports in the future!

He's calling the people who insulted Milkis personally and Milkis's translating in the reddit thread trolls and haters, not the people who disagreed with him.

With the elitist attitude you have, Milkis, you shouldn't be involved in eSports. Best of luck in your future, you made the right decision to leave.

He didn't say anything was horseshit at all. Way to misconstrue it. He just put the bar at being an esport at or above what BW is right now for some decent reasons, then gave 90% of his post to describing the past BW scene.

Then people got all angry because hungry-hungry hippos with MaxisOnline is now not an esport.

Too true. It's like after saying, "That's not a knife, THIS is a knife!" there's a huge public outcry against you about how you're demeaning the entire switchblade industry, and a community of balisong twirlers tell you how you're shitting all over how hard they practice. Clearly one knife is just much bigger and far more serious than the other, and the rhetoric is only trying to magnify that difference that would otherwise be lost within the collective noun "knives."

As a former quaker that switched to BW late 2k8 and sc2 when the beta arrived:

I CAN tell that no other game can compare to BW.

Btw wheat saying that other gamers can compare to S class players (savior, bisu, flash, jeadong ect) is such a joke...I mean I fucking love toxjq, but even him cant compare to the amount of practice they had to do to get to that point, i dont even think you can compare him to B class players...

I wont even comment on counter strike and some other games that have nothing required to be a good esport outside of the popularity.

I like how your whole point seems to be that "only skill matters" which is basically the cliche of every 12 year old halo player.

12 year old halo player has no experience...

I played many competitive games, I enjoyed playing them, I enjoyed watching some of them...But nothing compares...

But if you think that lesser skilled/talented athletes or players are as worthy to watch than the top of the top...I'll gadly get a time travel machine, go back to my 12th birthday, play halo until my 13th birthday and get back to my 12th birthday...Cause if you think really so, then i live in a crazy world and i should probably go crazy...
