The epicentre was somewhere in Holland in a depth of ~3 km, and the magnitude was a 4.2 on the Richter scale. With our city being over 100km away from the epicentre and the quake being relatively weak and shallow, it was probably surprising we noticed something at all.
Obviously quakes aren't exactly something to be "proud" of, with the damage some recent ones and larger ones over the last years have done, but still - it was a unique thing for me. Especially considering that this is highly unusual for western Germany. All you folks living in areas with regular ground shaking will probably grin right now, but hey, a first time's always something special!

Any other people in the area (german, dutch, belgian, french etc.) experience the quake? Maybe some first-timers as well amongst the crowd?
