I plan on just sort of living in the wastes and trying to survive rather than trying to do all the missions. This mod makes the wasteland more... well like a wasteland. I will edit this post with updates.
I also may Delete my character and start over every time I die. Not sure yet though. Let me know how you feel about this.
Edit: Decided to delete characters after they die to make it more fun/entertaining.
Permadeath gets me off what can I say.
Also no more VATS.
It will be posted sort of as a first person/journal format so I probably wont post much about stats and such unless I am asked to.
Thanks! Expect an update this week!

This mod lets you pick a back story. I chose Escaped slave which gives a bonus to hand to hand and speed with a debuff to science. Also slavers attack on sight and i have a slave collar on.
There were some other really cool ones like a Raider(their enemies become your enemies) scavenger etc.
As I shield my eyes from the unforgiving sun I hear a quick shuffling of feet. I quickly turn and spot a molerat coming straight for me I mercilessly dispatch it with my tire iron I picked up as I escaped the slavers camp. With only a tire iron and a few scraps of food I have decided to move onwards in hope of finding "fortune" however I would settle for food and a gun.
I take a few steps then the sound of a grenade shattered the calm wasteland air. I dove behind cover to see where came from.
I decide to take a look and am greeted by small arms fire. One of the bullets grazes my side and I decide to make a run for it.
My escape is made more difficult by 2 ravenous dogs who lash at my heels until I dispatched of them swiftly with my only weapon. The raiders are still on my tail and showing no signs of stopping.
2 structures enter my field of view and I decide to take shelter there. What could be worse than raiders? oh wait. More raiders. Or super mutants.
There is a grocery store here. I seem to have lost the raiders. I will check this place for provisions.
As the doors hinges cry out in pain and the door opens I am greeted by the sound of the Enclave radio. I would have almost preferred raiders. The store appears to be empty save a few radroaches.
I find a few beers and 2 boxes of sugar bombs, What more can a man ask for. To my dismay the first aid box was empty. I need something to patch my bullet wound.
After my run in with the raiders I have decided that my first priority should be finding a decent weapon. I would even settle for a BB gun at this point.
I spot an army truck behind some barricades up ahead guarded by a mister gutsy. I am unsure whether or not he is hostile. I will see how close I can get before it opens fire.
I spot a corpse with what appears to be decent gear but the damn rust bucket opens fire on me and I am forced to flee or meet a similar fate.
In an attempt to retreat across a dry river bed A wild mirelurk appears!
An enclave eye happens to be passing through and engages the mirelurk but is dispatched. I always knew the enclave could never protect us.
After what felt like a marathon I was able to outrun the mirelurk.
I spot a few storage containers I decide to check them out and see if they contain anything useful.
Huzzah! a few 10mm bullets! In my brief moment celebration a mirelurk crept upon me. I take a near fatal blow to the chest but return the favor to its unarmored face. I Winch as I punch my only stimpack into my veins. I feel reinvigorated and ready to fight!
I land another decent hit but so does the mirelurk.I put my tail between my legs and run for my worthless life.
A church breaches the horizon. Churches are supposed to be safe right?
I see a woman sitting next to a fire inside. I am unsure whether they are hostile or not.
She is a captive just like I was until recently! I must try and help her. this place reeks of super mutant. I better be quick. I spotted one in the distance returning from patrol. She is begging me to rescue her.
I will check this place for supplies quickly Huzzah! There is a Chinese assault rifle here! I must search quickly for some ammo. In my scrounging I find a min-nuke! as well as a combat knife. Still no ammo as of yet. I found some purified water as well!
I see an ammo box in the corner My hands tremble as I attempt to pick the lock as the mutant draws near. "Get me outta here!" she kept yelling. I was afraid she would alert my would be captors With a knife I found I untie this woman from her bonds. However mutants draw near so she is not safe yet. She rewarded me with kind words and a Nuka-Cola for my efforts. I thought females rewarded their heroes in... Different ways. No matter, I have a new gun! If only she had given me some ammo for it.
The sun is starting to set on the wastes. I will attempt to check the wreckage of the boat one last time then try and find a place to rest. Hopefully I can find something to keep my head from throbbing.
That damned Mirelurk is still there is all they ever do lurk?. If only my guns and ammo matched. If I can find a town or a caravan perhaps I can trade my gun for one I have ammo for.
I walk a ways north spotting a few shacks near the water. I make my way closer.
I hear a loud bang and I fall to the ground. My eyes slowly close as night falls bringing an end to just another average day in the wastes.

History:Ghoul. -30 disposition with humans. Radiation heals me
I awoke in Underworld. The ghoul city. It is today that I had planned to set out into the wastes to find myself a few extra caps.
As I step outside I am blinded by the merciless wasteland sun. I do not understand this smoothskin obsession with “tanning” seems silly to cook yourself beneath such heat.
I spot several super mutants outside of the entrance and decide to avoid them and go about my way. Most of downtown DC has been picked clean so I plan on heading out into the more open wastes.
I happen upon a Brotherhood of Steal soldier. Oh how I want his weapon. I have always had a fascination with energy weapons and computers. Conventional guns are just so... dirty. Perhaps I will return and liberate his weapon soon.
A beeping sound breaks the silence as a landmine blows up beneath me. It has crippled both my arms. I need to visit a doctor to get these limbs fixed up. However I am near broke So I plan to ambush the merchant I see ahead of me and use his goods to pay for my doctor bill.
Note: Crippled limbs is much more brutal in this mod, you need to fix them ASAP and its not easy.
There is another land mine nearby, I was tempted to disarm it However. I fear it would disarm me first.
I look to see where the merchant is and see several dogs charging towards me. I take one shot and turn around hoping that they will trip the landmines and save myself some ammo.
With the help of the brotherhood of steel soldier I am able to dispatch said dogs quickly All dogs go to heaven right?
In the commotion the merchant vanished. Perhaps I can sell some dog meat to pay for my treatment.
The guard seems to be spacing out. Hopefully this ammo box will have something of value.
I slowly open the lid to the ammo box and pull out all the ammo without the initiate noticing. Then I drag my bloodied self back to underworld to see if I can afford treatment.
I stop in at a shop to see what I can make of my meager inventory. The ghoul at the desk told me that if any of the armor fails to protect my life that she will give me a full refund. How... helpful.
While trading supplies I notice a laser pistol on the shelf. However I cannot afford both the pistol and the ammo. Besides fixing my arms should be priority. Firearms are no good without arms.
I know have a total of 140 caps. I hope this is enough.
Doc says it will cost me 100 caps. I have 100 caps however he refuses to serve me. Perhaps I will have to find other ways to heal myself. (This appears to be bugged sadly, oh well makes this more interesting)
I shall attempt to sneak past the super mutants and try and find some medical supplies. My heart nearly explodes at every little noise I make. The sound of my own heartbeat instills fear to myself. If the mutants spot me there is no way I will survive.
After creeping past 2 I notice there are 2 more up ahead. I may have to backtrack and take my chances with the dogs and landmines.
It would be near impossible to make it past safely so I am forced to turn back and find another route out of the mall.
I am spotted and the mutant opens fire on the car I am hiding behind which explodes tossing me into the air.
I land in disbelief, my left leg missing. My eyes darken as my blood quenches the wastelands insatiable thirst.

My lungs expand happily as they fill with the natural wasteland air. My eyes are at first in pain from the sun. However once I open them I am greeted by a somehow beautiful wasteland. I am ecstatic to be free from the vault. I always knew I was meant to wander the wastes. I will do my best to make it a better place.
My provisions include a small pistol a few stimpacks and some basic armor. Once I get a better gun I will be all set to start saving people!
Taking in the sites I slowly walk downhill towards a ruined town.
I open a mail box to find a few grenades and some nasty chems. I will probably sell these chems to pay for ammo. I don't want anything to do with them!
Curiosity getting the better of me I step inside a small house on the outskirts. I am started by its inhabitant. A girl by the name of Silver.
She asked who I was and if somebody whose name I do not recall sent me. Apparently her old employer has his cronies out to get her. She offered me caps to tell him that she was long gone. I accepted.
Down the street is an old school infested by no good dirty rotten raiders! I'll teach them some manners!
I sneak up and get the first shot. 2 of my 5 bullets land directly in his torso killing the first raider. I hear others start to stir and I fumble to reload my weapon as adrenaline begins to flow. 2 mole rats sneak up behind me and get a few good bites off before I put them down.
I hear gunshots from behind me. I dive for cover so I can better assess the situation. Before I can get to cover I hear taunts from a raider right behind me with a tire iron. I turn and prepare to fire.
A few shots later and the bastard meets the same end that he has given countless others.
Quickly stashing his weapon I move on to finish the fight.
I take down the last raider with ease. The coast appears to be clear. I am fine except for a few mole rat bites. That will teach the bastards. So this is what it feels like to fight.
From their dead corpses I acquire a hunting rifle, some ammo and a few melee weapons. But most importantly, The wasteland is a safer place.
A yawn reminds me that to find a place to stay the night.
I like the wasteland so far. It is the first time I have ever felt truly alone. Its calming in a way. Almost as if I have the whole world to myself.
The capital lies to the east. I don't think I am ready for that yet. I hear there are lots of ghouls and super mutants in the capital ruins. I think I will head west into the more open wastes.
I duck as an explosion beaks the silence. A quick look reveals a raider ahead of me. It appears that the raider is engaged with something else. I will get a closer look.
The two raiders are in combat with something else. One of them falls to the ground. The raiders are between me and whatever they are fighting. I am not sure if I should kill the raiders or let them fight it out. They could be fighting some feral beast. I will keep an eye out and try and learn more before I make my presence know.
It is a brotherhood outcast that is laying waste to the raiders. I have heard stories of the brotherhood. I have never seen one in the flesh before. They are intimidating in their power armor. I am glad that what killed the raiders was friendly. However I am also disappointed as I wished to end their pathetic lives.
Luckily the brotherhood outcasts do not whatever “primitive” weapons the raiders have and they are mine for the taking. One had some ammo and a Scorpio machine pistol! How neat. This may come in handy. The other had a sawed off shotgun and a few shells.
There sure are a lot of things to kill people with out here. As if the wasteland itself wasn't brutal enough
Silhouettes appear in the distance. I am unsure who or what they are, I will advance with caution.
I appear to have stumbled upon a makeshift settlement. The sign reads “MegaTon”
I hope I can find a place to rest inside. But before I do that Checking what the caravans have to offer seems like a wise choice.
An exchange takes place. I give some melee weapons and chems for some a few caps.
Upon entering MegaTon I am greeted by a sheriff who grills me with questions and tells me not to cause any trouble.
The Sheriff was kind enough to direct me in the direction of where I can rent a bed so I can head out into the wastes tomorrow and kill some more raiders!
This town is very interesting. It is nothing like the Vault I grew up in. It honestly looks like a pile of junk. Well because it is. I won't complain as it gives me shelter for the time being.
The lady at the counter tells me that a room and some “company” will cost me 120 caps. I oblige as long as I have enough caps to survive I am happy.
This place is pretty clean for a wasteland bed. However I do sort of miss my bed back in the vault.
I turn to my right and see a dirty smelly man eating his dinner in my room. What the hell is he doing in here anyway? Don't these wastelanders know anything about privacy? I rudely shoo him off.
I Passed out harder than the vault overseer after a night of drinking. I awoke feeling refreshed but a bit peckish. I quiet my stomach by chowing down on some mole rat meat. I expected it to be disgusting however. It tastes a little better than the food we had in the Vault. My plan for today is to try and free some slaves and probably kill some raiders along the way. I may spend the night here again. However 120 caps a night adds up real quick.
Judging by the sun it is still early as I make preparations to set out. According to the sheriff there is a place to buy guns and ammunition in town. I should stop by. After trading a few caps for some ammo I notice my cap supply is starting to dwindle.
MegaTon fades away in the distance.
Noticing a small structure way ahead I change my direction. Turns out to be nothing Though this detour was not in vain as dispatching a mole rat provided a meal.
A saddening discovery was made. There was a dead slave near the side of the road. I searched the remains for anything of value and found a Slave map. I will look at this next time I stop to camp.
Smoke bellows from a fire near the coast. Upon further inspection it appears to be a small camp of raiders. I shall punish them for their crimes.
I breath deep as I line up my first shot and gently squeeze the trigger and the first raider drops dead. Never knew what hit 'em.
There are still 2 more raiders left. I will see if I can dispatch them from a distance to ensure my safety.
My next shot misses by a long shot and alerts the raiders to my presence. I scramble to reload as they take aim at my location. One of my bullets lands on a raider forcing that one to retreat. The other raider returns fire and I take a hit. A raider falls to the ground as I shoot them in the back. Bullets are bounce off the bridge I am taking cover behind. I feel like one of those heroes in those movies we watched in the vault!
With a well placed shot the last of the raiders fall. I creep up silently not to alert any others that may be nearby. Jackpot! These guys had a ton of ammo. One even had another hunting rifle that I can salvage for parts. I may remember this place next time I need to rest since there are several bedrolls here. They had a few unarmed landmines around as well. These may come in handy next time I need to sleep out in the wastes.
Down the road I spot another raider. This is not his lucky day. Creeping as close as possible. I open fire on the raider. Quickly ending its life with a well placed .32 round.
Near where I shot the raider appears to be a train yard.
I sneak up to take a closer look. Rough sounding voices reach my ears.I will see what they are up to before I open fire, they seem distracted.
They are beating up on a poor man! Something must be done!
I quickly inject a Stimpack and prepare my first shot. My first shot hits and they all turn to face me. Bullets fly by like angry wasps who have had their nest disturbed. Running around the corner I reload and wait for the raiders to pursue. I quickly lay down one of the mines I grabbed earlier.
The first mine takes out the 2 that are right behind me. The shrapnel barely missed me. Grimacing I inject another stim pack.
I turn and shoot another raider straight in the chest he drops like a bag of vault waste.
Something hits the ground behind me. I Feel a sharp stinging in my back as my face hits the dirt. The hot shrapnel embeds itself deep in my flesh as I taste the earth and shut my eyes one last time.
I just wanted the wastes... to be... a better....... place.
