So Summer. oh god. It started fairly innocently, with a nice party at the end of the year and some hot tubbing. Then I was off to Italy to visit Florence and Rome and see all of the old stuff the world had to offer.

Simply beautiful
The food was amazing (especially the lasagna, recommend that to any of you looking to visit the boot) and the liquor was pretty fun too. Especially because my parents kept on shoving more in my face to see how funny I got

From my facebook feed:
"stuck in Venice until 3:39 in the morning because they let us buy a return ticket 4 hours before our arrival. couldn't enter the bathroom because all three change machines were broken. and then a pigeon flew out of the sky and impacted just two feet in front of me, dead on arrival so I had to toss it into the canal. fun day."

Exhibit A: Pigeon flying

Exhibit B: Pigeon forgetting how to fly
"the boat taxi rammed into the dock. buy a glass of water to sit in a restaurant for an hour. waiting in the train station and we realize we need to get to Venezio Mez on our own, so we hop on the last train off the island and persuade the ticketman to let us stay on. then some guy tries to sell me weed in the bathroom, but I had coulnt because i had no cash (damn). and then finally stumbled back into Firenze. "
While it was fun, I was disappointed by the over commercialization of the city. It felt like every single beautiful landmark was marred by a billboard or scaffolding. I realize that the city had to generate revenue to counteract its rapid sinking, but I would have gladly paid $10 to enter it rather than have its beauty tainted by corporations.
I was going to write so much more... but I have an essay to do. If I get some positive feedback I might get into my girl situations this summer and the endless partying
