Hello TL!
Originally, just a handful of fellow nerds were playing BW at school, 4-5 people who played sc2 at home, and since they couldn't do so at school, they played BW. These were the Year 12's (for those not from Aus, this is the last year of schooling) Soon, a few more Year 12's joined in, those who like games, those who were intrigued by the action involved. There would be lunch time matches till we all got kicked off. More and more spectators arrived. People commented. People laughed.
However, now...Brood War has taken the school by storm. The most jockiest jockery jocks are playing the game, and are sort of addicted to it. Yes, they play one-handed (because that's the cool way to play) but still, lots and lots of people are talking about BW now and it's amazing. Nerds unite!
Starcraft club is opening tommorrow (our school has a ton of clubs) and it'll be exciting what we can start up (who knows, interschool eSport league!) Wonder if starcraft will gain a ton of players at the end of the year when all of us finish school. Who knows? I am excited!
Anyway, I play Random in sc2 (average Diamond who doesn't 1v1 much), but I want to play Terran in BW. Can anyone give me some standard builds please? I usually just make 2 rax and a factory, expand, then do whatever. I'd like to learn from you pros some decent builds that will help me stand my ground against any possible B- peps (<<<notice the face)
EDIT: There are ~1300 students at the school, in case you wanted to know how many new SC'ers will join you at the end of the year
Here's just something that may help you cough :
Cheers

That sounds really cool, I use to play a few games on The Hunters with my colleagues at office, but never was able to make everyone play.
If you want to learn Terran, read guides on Liquipedia. You can also watch StylishVOD vods, they are great. You mentioned potential B- level players ? Don't expect to take even one game off them before you train hardcore mode for a whole year lol.

sounds aweomse. wish this could happen @ my school

Stand your ground against B- players? You just set a too high standard, have you even played versus even a D player? It's really cool that your school allows a Starcraft club Easiest standard build is for TvP is Siege expand, when you get better you can try 1rax FE. TvZ, just do 1 rax FE, do the standard 9 mins push. Once you get better at these basics, you can do all sorts of strats and experiment. These builds help you to understand the game.

Unless youre like Kolll, dont expect to beat a b- or even a c- player for quite a while brohan.
dont set your expectations too high

By the by, there are 1300 students at our school across 4 year levels. Expect to see a load of new SC'ers soon

you know, I was just playing Broodwar against the AI, because the internet was out and I figured "Why not, you know?"
I'm playing zerg, getting my two bases set up and saturated, (got no fog cheat on cause I didn't know the map) and I'm thinking "Hey, this is easier macro than SC2!"
Then about twenty zealots walked into my base. I made one hydra. It died.

OMG WHAT SCHOOL DO YOU GO TO I WANNA VISIT LOL

lol, the AI in BW is pretty taxing
The school is Melbourne High School, maybe you've heard of it if you live in Victoria. It is literally a castle. (The school whose formal was crashed by Katy Perry )
