So in my last blog I gave a sample of the work I did on my companies blog, talking about WP7 and enterprise users and corporate users. I asked for feedback and got none

go figure.

Anyway, I've written a followup to that, which coincides with the Press conference in NYC and London today. here is an excerpt from my latest blog.

So in my last blog I wrote about WP7 and the market share it has and it’s projected share. I also briefly touched on the new update coming out for WP7 code named “Mango”.

Well today is the official day for the VIP Preview party NYC and London, at the same time. They are going to be announcing “over 500 new updates and features” Says Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

The press release started at 10AM EDT on May 24th and they have already begun announcing many new features and updates.

I will list a few of the updates I find relevant to our industry and to corporate users alike

Did they fix that thing where the phone would destroy your SD card if you plug it in?

That was only with 1 model. The samsung focus. Microsoft gave strict guidlines to follow for hardware. An SD card slot was not an option. But Samsung ignored the instructions and went ahead with one anyway.

And yes Microsoft did suck it up and fix Samsung's hardware issue, with a software update. There are actually WP7 certified SD cards you can buy now. So it's a non issue.

That's cool to hear. Just hope this time it does better. The world needs more competition in the smartphone OS. Competition is always good. But so far everything MS tried in the space flopped bad. Crossing my fingers for more competition

I specially like the cloud space they give you. That's the big oomph they have over competitors. It's gonna force Apple and Google to move their butts to keep up.

I like the fact that despite being "late" to the party, Microsoft is ALREADY catching up with iOS and Android, in terms of software and features, it's really quite amazing how fast they are moving.

I love competition, it's GREAT for consumers. I'm crossing my fingers too
