Hello, I'M currently in bronze division/league and I am hoping that I will soon make it to diamond. This week is my vacation so I plan to play enough 1v1's so that it will help me become better, but not to much that I get bored of it. I am currently number 1 in the bronze league and am waiting to be promoted Into Silver. Mostly I've been beating bronze players fairly easy. But there is a few that beat me. I am a protoss player and I usually four gate. I got the idea of doing it a lot from liquidhuk who when you watch the live stream almost always four gate's every sing game and he is ranked number 1 in masters. I still don't know how master level players seem to always have something to do or to look at. But this is what I plan to do.
Every morning when I get up I hope to play at least 3 ladder games. Then I might play some custom games or a few more ladder games. Then after lunch and between dinner I hope to play at least 7-8 games, then after dinner play some ladder games, custom games or some minecraft.
I hope by the end of the vacation I am at least in silver, but hopefully gold. I will try a few different builds on the way and then stick with one that I usually win with.
One of the problems I am having with four gate is that I mess up timings a lot, I usually don't have 4 gateways finished by the time warp gate technology is finished. I have been trying to fix that but I still mess up.
So I was wondering if any of you guys have any good builds that work for you a lot. Or should I just go all different types of builds all the time. The biggest problem I am having with four gate is with terran if they go tanks and thors I usually loose. I try to get a robo up and get one immortal up but it is no match to the 4-5 tanks and 1-2 thors, with marauders and marines mixed in.
I am trying to get a stream up and hopefully some people will come and watch so I can have some feedback on what I am doing wrong. I am going to use ustream (cause justin.tv isn't free)

hey man nice to hear you wanting to improve,
what I would suggest is copying a player like HuK, IncontroL, or whichever protoss you like the best. I would suggest more IncontroL because he likes to play the safer macro games which you will learn the most from. Copy his build, play it in single player until you have it perfect (for every matchup) and than focus on one thing improving like chronoboost, using all your gates, etc.

Don't go 4 gate because it is a terrible way to learn the game. Its going to take awhile so be patient and gl!

Tip: Don't 4-gate. You won't learn proper macro, and if they defend you'll straight up lose.
Against Zerg, learn to 3-gate sentry expand, and Forge FE.
Against Terran, 2-gate robo, and 1-gate expand FE.
If you fell like you need some coaching in Toss, I'm mid diamond random, but I main as toss, and you can PM me.
If you want to improve alot you'll need to play more than ~10 ladder games per day.
Unless you scrutinize heavily, which I don't feel is necessary on lower levels, raw practice and sheer number of games will allow you to improve drastically.

copy cruncher apparently hes pretty good at spamming flavor of the week abusive builds. start with cannon rushing, 4gate, and turtle and max. get high diamond with just that <3 (not trolling being serious)

If you're looking for something to copy beyond the basic opener (i.e. a 2gate fe, a 1gate fe), Tyler's double forge PvT is ridiculously strong against bio, and you probably aren't seeing too much mech play at your level.
I can't say anything about the other two matchups seeing as I'm terran and know mostly about that, but that build is awesome.

Yeah, I do realize that I will need to play more then 10 games to get better but I set 10 as a minimum because if I play to many ladder games at once I find my mind wandering to other things. I will also watch a few live streams through out the day because those really get my inspiration going to play some more games.
One of the reasons I've been hoping to get out of bronze is because zerg almost always 6 pools, protoss cannon rushes, and they love to talk smack. Like when you beat them they will say something like "I can't believe I lost to you, you suck" And then a lot of people just leave in the first 2 seconds. (even though I guess 4-gate is pretty cheesy)
I know that in diamond and master's people will 4-gate and cannon rush but not as much.
And Last Night I was trying out the 3 gate robo, it's actually pretty nice to do something different for a change!

I still say stuff like that and I'm "high" masters. Noone likes losing to someone they feel is inferior to them. It's just rage/annoyance. Especially if you are 4gating every person you play, I can easily understand why they smack talk.
My best advice is practice your builds and understand the game and the matchups. Play safe, and you will find yourself winning more.

Learn to 4 gate for Protoss v Protoss matchups, but try to use other builds against the other races. You can take it from me as someone who was bronze not that long ago that if you can put up an expansion even semi-early in the game you will have such a huge economic advantage over most bronze league players that it is just silly. In bronze there's a lot of cheese and all-ins and you can definitely use that to your advantage by practicing going into longer economic games because you'll be the one who has practiced those games more often and your opponent is used to having won or lost the game by then and won't really know how to react. The thing is that HuK uses a 4-gate, but he uses it as an opening into getting an expansion, not as a 1 base all-in so if you want to emulate that it's ok but try not to just open 4-gate versus each race especially in bronze where you may only need 2 gates to be safe to expand.

I have been trying different builds, going mass stalker, 3 gate robo, etc. Trying to learn how to adapt quickly to what ever the player gets. Usually a collosus, some stalkers and zealots does it, sometimes not though. Still waiting to be promoted, I played a couple silver league players today and won, still no promotion though.
Also Vlare, the time that happened I wasn't using four gate. And he was pretty bad, he had almost no units when we were pretty in to the game. I think he was just mad that I beat him and he had to get it out some how.
