I'm continuing to have some issues with the level of my voice when recording with fraps. After looking around for a bit it seems that this is a common problem. I've tried adjusting all my settings but nothing seems to help.
What is the viability of recording my voice with a separate program and then adding it to the video. I know that TotalBiscut does it, but he uses Adobe Audition which is ~$275 which is way to much for me. Does anyone know of a free option? **Edit** Does Audacity work well? I've heard it has a hotkey setup that might enable me to start recording in both fraps and the Audacity simultaneously. Can anyone confirm this?**
It looks like I'm going to have about $150 to get myself set up (mic/software/accessories).
Being nigh broke sucks. But, I've never let that get in my way before and I'm not planning on starting now.
In other news, I'm continuing to look into broadcasting technique and starting to compile two lists of habits I notice in other casters that I either want to emulate or attempt to steer clear of. So far, the biggest thing I've found is that it is vital to understand (and say) WHY things are happening as opposed to simply repeating WHAT is happening. Obviously there is a balance to maintain, but I feel like it isn't engaging enough when you lean too heavily on the WHAT.
So, since its my goal to be the best caster in the world (setting a reasonable goal, I know) I've started making flashcards so I can learn how units, tech and structures all interact.
I'm going to a small LAN with some friends this weekend so, unfortunately, I will not have time to get casts up by Monday, but I hope to order my equipment today or tomorrow, so I should be up and running by Wed at the latest.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
