Apparently these are all the rage on TL. Unfortunately I used my 1k-th post LR-ing the TSL Ro32 Day 4 so this is more like a "1k and a bit post". I'm sorry if you feel tricked by the title.
On LR and Posting I've been a lurker on TL for ages but I eventually created an account to cheer on SKT1 and their conquest of BW as the universe pre-ordains. But I eventually got into posting in some SC2 LR threads. Some of you may have seen me around, even.
LR in SC2 I think is much easier thanks to the observer interface. Seeing what's being made, having the timer and all that just makes life so much easier. It also means you can make quotes within quotes of yourself with the time included so it's easier for people to read your LR summary. (On a side note, is there a maximum number of quotes you can make? I noticed my posts cutting out old quotes quoted today.)
However, what I intensely dislike is how much trash there is in these LR threads. It's quite sad honestly. It's even sadder seeing people criticise you for LR-ing in an LR thread.
To those of you I have offended by LR-ing, I apologise that you all have such a bad attitude and that I give the 1% of people who can't watch a match some way to keep up. Obviously I should be posting 100% factual statements such as how PvP is some coinflip match-up, TvZ is imbalanced and QQ-ing about lag. I guess I'm just a terrible poster. Maybe I'll go train at the training house for posters.
On a more serious note Dear people who watch SC2 games,
I'm not a very informed person when it comes to SC:BW and SC2. You can kind of tell from the stuff I write. I don't really know what's imbalanced, I kinda of understand counters, and I don't get the whole lawsuit thing about Kespa and Blizzard. What I do know is that Flash is scary, and that everyone should cheer for Bisu. But I like watching matches. I enjoy watching players, whoever they may be. Of course I'm sad when my favourite player loses. But I accept that there's a real person who was playing against him. A player who also wants to win. And he's (probably) also a likeable person too.
There's not such thing as cheese, cheap tactics, and imbalance. Two players enter a match. Both want to win. Both have tools given to them. They have to make the best with what they have.
If someone loses, it's because they weren't good enough. End of argument.

On a happier note Big shout out to the TL Staff who work so hard, people who make sensible posts, people who LR when I can't watch matches, translators (Spica's commentary is funny), SKT1 Fans and LiquidParty.
P.S. SKT1 wins Proloague again, Bisu wins dual leagues next season. And you haters know it~

I love your LRing. Keep it up man. Congrats on 1k!

Your LR is really nice. Helpful for those who can't watch it or those who missed some matches. Shame that there is theese bad posts.
Grats for 1k post.

Bisu ain't gonna win shit man! YOU LIE!

Yeah, no kidding... it's ok, there's still space on the KT bandwagon.
But seriously, thanks for the LR. You do good work :D

Grats on 1k post, and I know what you mean by how shitty the SC2 LR threads can be, report function can be your best friend there.

Even though I don't read your LR at all, I see you do them while I'm scrolling through the LR thread during games. I have no use for them, but I'm sure they are greatly appreciated by the people who do use them. Don't listen to the newer posters who don't know the original purpose of LR threads.
Keep up the good work man and congrats on the 1k posts. You're going to be up there with the likes of konadora soon if you keep this up.

Or what the guy above me says (stupid ninja!).

Oh hey your the guy who time stamped and actually reported the game instead of qq'ing about balance!
|
Your awesome at the LR threads keep it up ^^ Grats on your 1k post ;D i noticed it at the LR thread,

Grats on 1k SKT1 HWAITING!
Yes, BW LR's do get a bit of TT on cheese, especially when it involves Flash getting eliminated or Flash > JD/Bisu/Storku-sweet-pumpkin, but it's nothing like the ballance trash in SC2 LR's.
I find it unfair to group BW and SC2 LR's together in the same bag of trash-posting. Granted they are the #1 best place for inflating post-counts (o hai Kona ;] ) and require little to no thought-before-"post", but that's also the great thing about them. You can and could have intelligent strategic discussions about the high-level play, but that'll most likely be drowned out by just sheer un-bridled passion and excitement of watching a game unfold live.
You can't get away from the low-thought nature of LR threads, that's what they're for. Sure it's great if someone, like you (major props btw), actually reports, but where else can we scream with nerd passion on the internet about completely badass play and games?
However LR threads with the new level of balance-TT that goes on thanks to SC2 is plain crap. And that's why I think it's unfair to equate BW and SC2 LR. Go look at 3/4 Playoffs, and then take a look at today's TSL3 games. You're certain to find a much smaller, but more refined, mannered, polite, erudite, enlightened.... group in one, and a not-so-`old` group in the other, relates to the relatively young and new population demographic of the respective fanbases.
In any case, keep it up, I'm becomin' a fan!

Oh hay, I actually get a shout-out in a blog! *Feels special* I clicked on your blog because I've seen you LRing in SKT matches, and whattaya know, I get a shout-out. Thank you for the mention; I personally think that my jokes are terribad and cheesy, but I think that it's more interesting/amusing to include them than just posting the pictures as they are. I know that there's people out there who are sick of my jokes, but if there's even a few people who actually like and enjoy my snarky comments, then I feel good for making others feel good. And to the others who feel bad about what makes me feel good, well, haters gonna hate.
But enough about blabbering about me, let's blabber about you! I've always appreciated your LRing in SKT matches - there needs to be a healthy SKT biased LR to balance out all them KTFlash fanboys looking to crash our party. Your LRing makes me giggle at times as well, so please keep it up! I sometimes pop in SC2 threads if there's a huge tournament, and I've seen your LRing in there also, and let me tell you something.
LRing is ALWAYS appreciated, no matter what. There isn't a single person out there who doesn't appreciate LRing. And those who do whine about LRing are the ones that go, "There's no need to LR, we know what's going on." Screw them. They're not the majority of people who are grateful to read what happened after disappointingly missing a big match they weren't able to see live. Screw them and ignore them.
Your LRing is a gem amongst the muck and trash that is mostly spam going, "lol 4gate sucks" and such. Your LRing is a contribution here. And this site can't afford to lose contributors. Contributions are what makes TL keep going. If you know that there's at least even one person out there who appreciates what you do, then continue doing it. Don't be let down by those who criticize you. Those who criticize LRing are mostly the ones who don't contribute squat and degrade the quality of LR threads even further. SC2's LR threads already have a, to put it lightly, notorious reputation, and it's up to all SC2 fans out there to get rid of that image. Your contribution is a valuable step to making it happen. Kudos to you for stepping up to doing something few else are willing to do.
I don't know whether I can agree with your point of view on imbalance, because I feel that there are factors out there that could hinder a player from winning over the other, but you're right, players have to be more prepared than who they are facing, and try to overcome those factors. If your opponent was more prepared than you and won, then tough luck, you should have been more prepared than them. I do agree with you that there is no such thing as cheap tactics though... You do whatever it takes to win, and in the eyes of others, it looks like taking the dirty way out. Cheese gets such a bad rep.
Thank YOU for your contributions; contributions are what makes this site great and sets it apart from others! SKT fans gotta look out for each other, and hellz yeah SKT gonna take the Proleague championship. Ignore all them anti-SKT fans too, they just jealous of our awesome trophy cabinet and want to prevent what's coming. People who want to contribute are always appreciated. Keep up the awesome work, and congratulations on reaching the big 1k!

LRing needs to be biased as much as possible, that's the beauty of it!
The best live reporter was hands down Last Romantic. His fanboyism for Reach and whole KTF was unmatched. This is how he would usually start off his live reporting of Reach games (made up, but close enough):
"MANTOSS, AN EMBODIMENT OF EVERYTHING MANLY SPAWNS AT 1 AS BLUE MANLYTOSS"
"puny human who dares to oppose THE MANTOSS himself spawns at 5"
etc..

This blog reeks of secret SKT propaganda lol I agree with most of the sentiments though,SC2 LR threads are easily trashed due to hardcore fanboyism and balance talk.

Keep up your nice LRing, dude. It's always appreciated, and it provides a beacon of facts amongst a sea of QQs and whining.
I tried my hand at LRing some nights of GSL Code A matches, and it's tough business to type quickly and concisely enough to be relevant. It's a hard job, but someone's gotta do it, and I am always saddened whenever there is an LR thread with no dedicated LR person.
Anyways, I think the amount of whine and QQ and rage in LR threads is proportional to the popularity of the thread. Oftentimes, the 200 or 300+ page threads are mainly filled with such QQ and rage, especially considering that many of the posters are relative newbies with little experience with the customs of TL. Also, when a few people QQ, it just snowballs from there.
The BW LR threads are usually much more civil than the popular SC2 ones. The amount of civility and dedication of LR in these threads is quite refreshing, probably because the BW people are older, more experienced members of TL who don't complain about imba in BW because there is none.
The less popular SC2 LR threads can also be quite civil, especially the Code A ones. The people who watch those less-frequented games are usually quite hardcore to be staying up that late for games that might not even be that good, and this usually results in discussions that are a bit more mature than average GSL LR threads.
However, once you get popular players losing, one-sided smackdowns, and abusable builds being abused, there is bound to be tons of whining in the thread, and I don't think the last of the QQ-ers will be silent until long after the last patch after the last expansion pack of the game.

Thank you LR dudes, especially you OP, because you have a sweet ID.

I noticed you LRing in the TSL Day4 thread, did a really good job. Its a shame when nobody does it, too many threads just have people whining balance or otherwise wasting space.

@OP, I really enjoy your LRs man, don't worry about the haters. Congrats on 1k. Also, Bisu is awesome.

Grats for 1k post. One of the reasons I LR is because I know how useful it is to have an LR when you can't watch stream for whatever reason, or want to catch up before the VoDs come out. The live feeling of watching and writing commentary is also cool. ^^
