It's time for my third blog-entry. If you haven't read my previous entries you can head here to catch up. Really short version: I'm bronze, I play random and I blog to keep track of my progress and babble about my games.
Patch 1.3 is here with all it's changes. I like most of the changes but especially the record-change is something I dislike a lot. Keeping track of my progress is a bit harder now when I have to use pen and paper to track total games and losses. Well, I used pen and paper for one day and after that I totally forgot it. I'm getting old.
Patch 1.3 and the end of Season 1 also brings in the fabulous oh so awesome milestone badges and yes, I'm going to get the Bronze Top 8 - badge with stars and wings and bling bling! Hooray for me!
I'm not sure if patch changed the way matchmaking works (or I just started checking who I get matched up against) because nowadays I'm getting matched against top silver - low platinum. It is quite wide range but I haven't noticed any significant increase of skill in my opponents. I know ladders are currently locked so when season 2 starts I might get promoted unless they reset the whole thing.
Getting matched up against higher-league players have also brought up some interesting changes in my opponents. When fighting against other bronzies there is somekind of secret code of honor and respect. We both knew we suck but we still respect each other.
I have noticed that BM has increased by a lot. Of course there are still kind players who do the glhf at the start and GG's before they surrender but there has been few players who really pissed me off with their comments (was too lazy to crop and host the screenshot itself so I just wrote it here):

Top 8 Silver: should come as no surprise that a random facerolls with MM..... really go l2play instead of onebutton spamming.

Mid Gold: do you know there is more than 1 unit in this game

I realize that those two were the bad apples of the basket but they still irritated me. In those games I didn't cheese and I did not use just one unit. Ok, I admit that in first game (TvZ) I did use quite a lot of marines at the start. My first push was only pure marines and I was able to deny his expo with it, so it was quite successful. Of course when marines seemed to work I kept making them, added some marauders, medivacs and tanks to next push which was enough to make him quit.
In second game I did some speedling harrassment at first, then changed to roach/hydra and just decided to try some muta-harrassment also. He didn't have any counter to mutas so I made a bunch more which was enough for him to quit.
Luckily those two are the only BM incidents I've met so far in my SC2-career. By the way, is there some way to check my opponents league during game? Because if that's possible, maybe those two players were just embarrassed because they lost to a puny bronze :D
I still haven't wrote a lot about my builds or matchups.. Oh well, I'll spent my weekend out of town (which is the reason I wrote this entry now). I hope you enjoyed reading this. There is still a lot more to come so until next time!
Cheers!
