This post obviously contains GSL Code A Spoilers. If you haven't watched all games and care about, don't continue reading.

Code A Round of 32 Recap and Prediction Analysis

Score in parenthesis was my prediction
+ Show Spoiler +

Losira 2-1 LegalMind (2-1)
Well, somehow I was spot on there. A game as close as I thought with Losira coming out on top.

August 2-0 Loner (1-2)
I expected more from Loner, as I guess everyone, but nevertheless August played really well in those games, not much to bicker about.

Curious 0-2 HuK (0-2)
HuK won clear as expected, although the way he played, as pointed out on State of the Game already, wasn't nearly as good as I expected. I don't think this style will survive a stronger player unless I completely misunderstand how this game works, HuK needs to adjust his gameplay in my oppinion.

RevivaL 2-0 ButterFlyEffect (1-2)
RevivaL was impressing. I didn't know him a bit before, but he stomped over BFE in my eyes. I fear for HuK if his ZvP is as good as his ZvT.

Virus 2-1 Moon (1-2)
My Warcraft3 heart blead in this game constantly, as Moon lost this game, and not even undeserved. Virus is good, that was common knowledge before, and Moon didn't come up to his full potential, so he faces Code A qualification next season sadly.

GanZi 2-0 Haypro (1-2)
A game in which I constantly felt the casters were trying everything to not give Haypro a hard time. But, apart from losing about 5000 minerals to not canceled hatches, although Haypro played decent and was still way outclasses by GanZi from the beginning, and took this game with ease.

Coca 2-0 Ace (0-2)
I was really off on this prediction, I didn't know anything about Coca before, but this boy is in my brain now. Beautiful ZvP, controlling Ace all game long, very impressive.

YuGiOh 0-2 Leenock (1-2)
Leenock's ZvZ remains very solid and was just better than YuGiOh, not much to add.

Rain 2-1 Yeah (0-2)
Rain postponing the decline from a GSL finalist to dropping out of GSL Code A for another round. Apart from that, Rain didn't show any stellar game, it was enough to beat Yeah.

Destination 2-0 mOOnGLaDe (1-2)
This game made me a sad panda. My dearest kangaroo Zerg just died twice to quit simple T pushes, I hope he can do better next season.

Junwi 0-2 Alicia (2-1)
The dark horse with the stupid name Alicia went into this game against a well respected Zerg and won it without much sweat, this boy is to look out for.

Noblesse 2-0 Maka (1-2)
Maka played really poor in both games and showed nothing worth of staying in Code A in these games.

SuperNova 2-0 Squirtle (0-2)
Another GSTL hero dying here surprisingly. The amount of unknown crazy good players in Korea is stunning, and SuperNova is now one of them, good matches here.

Alive 2-0 Cezanne (2-1)
Alive was even better then I expected. First map was over after Alive made a bonfire with Cezannes drones, the second took longer but Alives map awareness was crazy, if he wouldn't play in a booth, I would bet he map hacks after scanning every single baneling landmine.

Jjob 2-0 Ret (1-2)
I refuse to call him MMA, please, what's that for a nick? On first map, Ret was ahead for most part of the game but failed to switch into aggressive macro mode, and surprisingly, especially for a BroodWar Zerg, not placing defensive Nydus Wurms to defend his bases. Kind of a similar story on the second map, quite ahead at the 15 minute mark but not finishing the job in an even more drastic way, I feel very sad for him.

Killer 2-1 JookTo (2-0)
Somehow JookTo refused to play standard ZvP on Scrap Station and tried baneling combat drops which went wrong. On the second map, mass muta gave him a huge advantage he rode home in a onesided basetrade. One base blink on the third map seals the deal.

Code A Round of 16 predictions

+ Show Spoiler +

Losira(Z) vs. August(P)
I like Losira's playstyle, and the new maps of course favor him. On the other hand, August played really well against Loner. I will go with a 3 map victory for August here.

HuK(P) vs. RevivaL(Z)
My prediction here is based on two assumptions. First, HuK showed his actual PvZ in the Ro32 match, but Nazgul kicks his ass and makes him overthink his strategy. And second, RevivaLs ZvP is weaker than his ZvT. Based on those 2 statements, HuK wins after three maps, if I am wrong on one of the two, I see HuK go down here.

Virus(T) vs. GanZi(T)
Both played TvZ in there games before, and while Virus had quite a struggle, GanZi was pure impressive. Based on that, he will win this one in two maps aswell.

Coca(Z) vs. Leenock(Z)
Leenock and his top ZvZ against one of the absolute suprises of the first Round. Hard to call, but although I loved how Coca played before, I will pick experience over youth and say he takes it in 3 close maps.

Rain(T) vs. Jjun(T)
The nemesis of moonglade will take this game easily, he was impressive the round before and Rain was lucky not to drop out, 2-0 here.

Alicia(P) vs. Noblesse(T)
I have a hard time judging Noblesse based on the Maka game, and Alicia played really well, so I guess this is a 2-0 for Alicia, but I feel uncomfortable calling anything here to be honest.

SuperNova(T) vs. Alive(T)
Hard one. SuperNova won against the GSTL starplayer Squirtle in a very solid performance, and Alive was crazy good against Cezanne aswell as being very good in GSTL and last season Code A, I see the latter in front here after 3 maps.

Jjob(T) vs. Killer(P)
Jjob came out on top after 2 games that didn't go well until mid game stage for him, his stamina is very reliable. On the other hand, Killer had his struggles with Jookto, it could have gone the other way round. Altogether, Jjob impressed me and Killer didn't, I see Jjob win this 2-0.

Summary

+ Show Spoiler +

Huk will dominate. Huk's play style is a lot like mc's style, but I think huk has better control and proper decision making. I think 2-0 for huk.

Your saying mc's style relies on luck and the unresponsiveness of an opponent? your saying HuK has better control then the best protoss in the world? MC doesn't have proper decision making?

Well i don't think HuK is bad, I believe, as stated that his current style of play is bad for tournament play, and I have seen him do better.

I don't quite think that HuK will be able to win this series.

I agree with CampinSam that that's a bit of an overstatement of Huk's abilities.

I did vote for him on liquibet though. I'm assuming he's going to patch up the leaks that became evident in his last PvZ series.
