He's about 11 now and he doesn't swim like he used to, although he still loves it. 2-3 more years with him I'd say. But I for sure would like to be the one holding him when he goes. No way, I didn't do it myself! I was there, holding his paws and comforting him while the vets did the procedure. It was and injection producing profound depression of respiratory and cardiac reflexes in seconds, and the heart stops beating. I don't know if a deep breath or a sigh are side effects of the procedure but I feel those while holding his head and it shocked me even more.
