I'm going to be using this blog for more reasons in the future don't worry, but this first post is going to be my shot at writing up a recap. Please feel free to let me know where I can improve my writeup, any criticism is welcome!
Up/Down Round F Match 1


From the GSL Season 1 Championship down to the Up and Down matches, TSL_FruitDealer has had a very tumultuous ride through the top Korean scene. At the end of the January season, FruitDealer had to best sCfOu to guarantee a spot in Code S for the next GSL. The loser of this match would go on to play MakaPrime for one of the last Code S slots.
Game 1 - Blistering Sands

FruitDealer goes for a 15 Hatch, 15 Pool while sCfOu walls in with two barracks. sCfOu sends 2 SCV's and a marine to push, with another SCV and streams of Marines following. FruitDealer throws down a Spine Crawler at his natural as soon as he has the creep, but the first bunker finishes. With some good Zergling control FruitDealer manages to pick off all the SCVs that sCfOu sent with the push.
sCfOu evacuates the bunker and sends his marines back home. He expands to his natural, moving his barracks over to wall in the choke. FruitDealer begins researching Zergling Speed, while sCfOu build two factories for Blue Flame Hellions. FruitDealer begins building his Roach Warren and Baneling Nest, still trying to find an opening for his lings to do some harrasment. With good coverage, sCfOu denies the lings wherever they go, so FruitDealer begins to break down the rocks at his gold expansion.
As a group of 6 upgraded hellions moves out, FruitDealer moves his small roach force down to sCfOu's back door destructible rocks to begin breaking them down again. The hellion group makes it into FruitDealers main, but with more Roaches popping out, they are cleaned up very quickly and with minimal losses.
Meanwhile FruitDealer has continued breaking down the rocks at sCfOu's base, and pushes in with a strong number of roaches and a few banelings. Not utilizing seige mode, sCfOu loses a good portion of his army, many SCVs, and a lot of mining time as he is forced to pull workers to help defend. FruitDealer pulls back out with 6 roaches, a great return for such good harassment. He returns to sCfOu's front with them, destroying the tech lab that was researching Combat Shields before the upgrade could finish.
Continuing to press his advantage, FruitDealer goes back up the back door ramp with another force of Roaches, Zerglings, and Banes. He picks off a couple seige tanks, but sCfOu is much better prepared and repels the attack quickly.
FruitDealer burrows two roaches behind sCfOu's mineral line, finishes his gold expansion, and begins researching +1 to Air Attacks. He goes directly for sCfOu's natural mineral line with his mutalisk force, taking out tons of SCVs. Behind this harassment, FruitDealer has also expanded to the top-center expansion.
sCfOu tries to move out with a large Marine/Tank force with some Marauders, scanning before the baneling land mines could have any effect. sCfOu heads directly for FruitDealer's gold expansion, but is engaged before he can make it down to the lower area with his army. FruitDealer comes out on top of the battle with strong ling and Roach reinforcements.
As FruitDealer begins harassing his natural again, sCfOu moves out for his last attempt to swing the game in his favor, bringing a lot of SCVs with a largely tank force. FruitDealer holds off the attack with tons of Banelings and sCfOu is forced to gg.
Game 2 - Metalopolis

The players spawn in close positions, with FruitDealer at the 12:00 and sCfOu at the 9:00. FruitDealer goes for gas before Spawning Pool, while sCfOu again walls in with two barracks. sCfOu builds up a large Marine/SCV force, but FruitDealer decides to take the aggressive stance and begins harassing sCfOu's early expand with his speedlings.
As sCfOu steps out with his Marine ball, FruitDealer swings in and gets a surround with his lings. With his entire army destroyed, sCfOu is forced to pull all of his SCVs while FruitDealer runs into the main. Scouting no gas being mined by sCfOu, FruitDealer begins building his Baneling Nest.
FruitDealer holds back with his large grounp of Zerglings and morphs in 7 Banelings. He chases the marines back up the ramp, but sCfOu has much better positioning. The Banelings take out all the Marines, but with 4 barracks they are quickly reinforced again.
FruitDealer pushes in with a small force of lings and banes again, but doesn't manage to pick off any units. Continuing to harass the natural, FruitDealer begins to drone up again as the game begins to normalize.
FruitDealer builds an evolution chamber for +1 melee attacks, still only on hatchery tech with no Roaches. sCfOu finishes researching Stim and Combat Shields.
With the supplies at 120 for sCfOu and 69 for FruitDealer, sCfOu pushes out with a huge Marine/Marauder force. FruitDealer's banelings are ineffective as sCfOu pushes over the zerg natural, and FruitDealer gg's.
Game 3 - Scrap Station

sCfOu begins the game with one barracks at his ramp and one proxied by his own desctructible debris. FruitDealer goes for a Hatchery first build, and begins scouting extensively, sensing something is wrong. sCfOu pushes out with 3 SCVs and 3 Marines as FruitDealer begins his Roach Warren. sCfOu gets two bunkers completed at the bottom of FruitDealer's ramp, picking off the queen and a large number of lings.
sCfOu begins an expansion back at his natural. FruitDealer gets 4 lings out of the contain and begins to try and slow down the reinforcing marines. sCfOu bounces back and forth from his bunkers to FruitDealer's natural to try and take down the hatchery. FruitDealer begins a banelings nest but cancels it to just continue pumping drones and also begins researching Zergling Speed.
sCfOu stops sending reinforcements, just keeping 5 marines in the bunkers at FruitDealer's ramp to continue a light contain. FruitDealer breaks the bunkers as his lair finishes, and begins his spire and baneling nest. He takes a 3rd expansion at the southernmost location after destroying the debris.
sCfOu begins his push with a large Marine and Tank army, lifting one tank up to the high ground behind FruitDealer's natural. FruitDealer's Mutalisks come in to begin picking off siege tanks, getting 2 out of the 3. FruitDealer continues to delay the push with his mutas while he builds up his army.
FruitDealer tries to break out of the contain before his Baneling Speed finishes and gets torn apart by the reinforced siege tanks. sCfOu takes out the remaining Roaches and pushes into FruitDealer's natural with a large Marine force to force the gg.
Edit: I also plan on including screenshots of the matches, but sadly I have to leave for work in about ten minutes so I don't have time right now. I'll come back tonight and add them in, don't worry.
Also in case anyone is wondering, this is going to be my first attempt at a recap to include with my application to the TeamLiquid position. That's why I picked a somewhat older match (Link to GOMtv VOD) but one that (I believe) didn't get a recap written up for it.
