I've thought about it for a while now. SC2 is probably the greatest game I've ever played, I'm a huge fan of competetive games, wasn't there during the BW days but I've definetly grown attached to SC2.
Climbed myself pretty high in the ladder, to the point where you really had to keep in shape to keep winning. I'm still at 2500 diamond, and I find it hard to keep up if I don't play for like 1-2 days. It takes a lot of energy, like discussing with teammates, reading forums, watching vods. It's really great actually, but it consumes the social life hard. Atleast mine, I've found myself last year stuck in Starcraft, always talking about Starcraft to my friends, although none of them were really that interested.
I'll probably return some day, when I'm feeling more up for it. I realized it was probably not such a good idea anyhow to pursue professionalism in a video game at my age (19), there is soo much other stuff to do.
Haven't played since new years, got a lot of more stuff in my mind right now, like working out, a girl, playing guitar and so on... Before that my mind was constantly Starcraft related stratergy, I dreamt about Starcraft. Feels good that I always have to option to come back after I've broken up with a game I love. Hah.
Also here is a cool t-shirt I bought.

Good luck with your life.

I think it's more a matter of spending your time; I spend 60 hours a week on school, hit the gym five times a week, play golf, field hockey and still go out.
Also, I play Starcraft II. If you stop wasting time around teh interwebs, you should have time a plenty left.
|
Yeah, if you're efficient you will find you have a lot more time than you might think.
|
I had a dream once that I was in an FPS game(Counterstrike, I think), but it was played like SC2? It was weird. Anyway!
You can manage your time better and do everything you'd like. Play 2 games a night, or even just one. -shrug-
I do all my internet browsing and TeamLiquid posting while i'm at work XD And then just play games at home with my time online. I play guitar and see my boyfriend constantly too =P AND I do make time for socializing with my old friends and everything. All about time management 83

is there a hidden meaning to the shirt that im not getting? who is that guy

It feels a bit weak to squeeze in games in an otherwise busy life... It kinda takes away the competetive fun, since you're not going to get that feeling of satisfaction when you improve so often. I think there are better games out there for casual gaming.
|
heh although im only 2000 rank I'm 19 and facing the same decision. Not giving up altogether but not playing to my greatest potential or putting in the practice that I could.
|
+1 I've got other shit to worry about, as much as I love the game I had to break it off a few months ago.
|
|
go casual man, nothing bad about playing the game casually, I'm pretty casual myself and since SC 2 is pretty cheap in terms of hobby (you only need to pay for internet that's all). I liked it very much because I'm not much of a drinker
|
Yeah I think I'm out too. It's hard because I love the game so much.
I'll probably come back to it in the future. Change probably to definitely. edit: starcraft; why don't we take a break from each other?
|
While Starcraft consumes way too much of my time, too; I don't ever think about of quitting. If I am occupied with real life or other stuff (like other games) I just play less and watch fewer vods/casts. Do I need to prove to someone that I can compete in higher leagues? No. I was even demoted from just gold to silver.
