You may remember my last blog, where it had just come to my attention that a guy had made www.xsebt.com, which I found quite ammusing. So, today I log on to facebook and find that a guy from Sweden has messaged me. He wants my fucking twitter account, which I've never used for anything, but to follow people. He asked very politely if he would have it, to which I answered "I'm currently not using my twitter for more than following others, but since I don't know if I'll be using it in the future, I'm not willing to give it up." I also mention that I had notice the xsebt.com website. I kinda thought this would be the end of this, but he seems to be srs business. In his reply he confirms that xsebt.com is indeed his domain, but now shit gets real (lol) - he asked if he could buy my damn twitter account. Now I'm in kind of a dilemma - what the heck should I do?: While I don't really like my nick name, it is something I've used for a long time, and a lot of people know me by that name on the internet. However, if I could get money out of something as simple as a twitter account I would of course do it for the right amount of money. But what is the right amount of money in a situation like this? What is cheap? What is greedy?

Well considering you dont use the account other than to follow just work out how much time it would take you to set up a new account and get all the same following set up. Like say it would take 2 hours. If you got a job, how much would you get per hour? x2 on that and add a little and you have your price.

Before you do any business ask your partner his real identity. If you sell your account for $30 then he proceeds to use your account and the xsebt website to conduct illegal activities, shit will really get real this time.

Either give it to him for free or keep the account. Selling it seems kinda lame.

Its not like changing accounts is a quick and easy thing. you need to go back through and re-follow everything you were, remember the new ID, be prepared not to have your ID if u ever start doing tweets. Selling seems reasonable because it literally costs you time, time you could've spent playing BW

Don't sell your twitter account. The guy can just make his own twitter called Goxsebt or myxsebt and link it all over his website if it's important. Here's a good example. http://twitter.com/Blizzard
You have no idea what your twitter may be worth to you later.

Selling seems reasonable because it literally costs you time, time you could've spent playing BW It depends on what you think is "quick". For me, everything <1 hour is quick and 2-4 hours is "normal". I don't have a twitter account, so my information are of course limited but I can't imagine that recreating the account would be that bothersome. Such services are quite simple, so you probably have to click only a few times to start following someone. I would be happy to set the account up, so that the other person is able to get XsebT's for free. I mean, it's obviously important to him. He asked politely and is willing to spend money for it. So I just can't see how you could possibly charge money for it.

lol
This is like someone coming up to you on the street and offering you 50 bucks for some used chewing gum... Sell that shit but make sure you get as much as he's willing to pay.
If you ever need a twitter (lol) just make another one. It not like Xsebt is a famous brand name or anything...

I am pretty sure you can just go into settings and change your username. So its like what 2 minutes work?
Ask what he is willing to give for it. If it does not matter to much to you you might aswell go something like myxsebt. You will profit from this because well it does not matter much to you and you get some cash, he will profit because it obviously matters to him and he gets the name he wants. It is a good deed plus getting cash from it.

Just ask him how much is he willing to offer. If it is not considerable, then fuck him and keep it for yourself. If it is amount you like, then sell it. I mean it is just a nick name. Don't give it up for free that would be really stupid unless you don't care about the name at all and you feel like doing a good thing. However there is a saying in my country that every good thing will be rightly punished aftwerwards and it always works.

Sorry for not really answering to your suggestions (Thanks a lot for them!), but I can't really make up my mind. The thing I'm leaning most towards atm is just giving it to him and getting it out of the way. But a thing I've been wondering is.. well, I don't know what xsebt.com does and I don't care. But I have that ID on a lot of popular websites (like youtube and stream websites). Why wouldn't he want those accounts aswell at some point? And should I just give in everytime any random fool wants a specific ID because they "care" about it? - read "care" as "wanting to ease the access to a certain product which can potentially give some guy some extra $$$". The thing is, I don't care much for money to being with - especially not "earned" this way.
The argument against this is "It's just a fucking twitter account. Get over yourself!", but I feel like I care more about my identity (be it on the internet elsewhere) than some money. I also have my principles working against that argument, which I know just sounds silly.
Gaaah, torn. I'm also freaking tired, which may add to me not being able to make up my mind. :/
Shader, I assume he just got my real name from twitter and search for me on facebook. But duno... The Internet is weird.
Oh btw, he also requested a password reset on my twitter account. Now, of course I have to accept this and even if I did he wouldn't get the password anyways, but it allmost seem like he wants to hack it if he could... X_X

Should at least find out how much he's willing to offer. I'm interested to know that even if you don't want to sell it.

Yeah, I just sent this pm to him: + Show Spoiler +Hi again!
Bare with me, but I tread lightly when it comes to money and ID on the internet. But I must get the obvious question out of the way before I make a decition: How much are you willing to pay for it?

Sounds to me like this guy is an ass. Why would he do that when you did not finish any negotiations?
Imo, if you have this ID spread around the internet at many sites, like you said youtube, etc. Keep it. Money does not seem to be too important for you and I dont think you will "earn" much of it anyways. As you also said, the guy might ask for your other accounts as well. Keep you internet ID unless you considered changing it anyways.

Regards, Sebastian “Bear with me,” the standard expression, is a request for forbearance or patience. “Bare with me” would be an invitation to undress.
This is what happens to kids who grow up with English major mommies.
Anyways, I don't think it's worth it. The guy seems pretty creepy to me; if he actually set a password reset on your account, it probably means that he's tried to guess the password a couple of times as well.

I didn't think of this at first, but I think that this is reason enough not to change. In fact, I would strongly suggest not giving him you account. If you do it once, it sets the precedence for later times- you have to draw the line somewhere, and I would start by just saying no. That is of course unless he offers a ridiculous sum of money.

If you dont want to change then dont, it is as simple as that. And did some googling, does this look like the same person/company that mailed you?
http://whois.domaintools.com/xsebt.com
If it is Radovate seems to be working with "industrial design, home design and web design". So, quite possibly he does not want it for personal use but for a company tweet.
Ask for 200$ and see what reply you get =)

Apparently I should just go around finding website names and making twitter accounts of them so that they might buy them.
To be honest, i have absolutely no idea what you should ask for - ask for a starting offer to get an idea of what he's willing to pay.
