Now the Greek guy is making me feel bad saying that I should have either given him all or nothing, but giving him half was just mean cause it gets his hopes up but he still won't be able to get back but it will help me sleep tonight. And he's got a point, I could have done more. I still could, got about 6 hours.

How about this "Greek guy" who is making you feel bad, chip in the other 100? That's just ridiculous, he chipped in nothing, so how can he judge you for helping at all (50% is pretty generous).

I've been in this scenario countless times. I'd say 80% of the time you will not get paid back unless you make an effort to do so, and it will take a long time. 20% of the time the person will dissapear.

The fact that you made this post shows that you don't fully trust the guy. If you fully trusted him then loaning would be NP.

People don't just 'lose their bank cards.' Give me a break. If this was so important to him he wouldn't have lost his bank card.

All of this + earlier argument about 25$ w/e with roommates = he's broke and desperate.

If anyone wants to make you feel bad, just tell them to shut the fuck up. No clue why you have such faggot roommates.

Well the Greek guy was just being a dick because he thinks I'm too soft for believing him, he told me he doesn't trust him when it comes to money and I shouldn't either, but if I do I should fully help him, not go somewhere in between when others won't help him, and I see his point.

The guy was very grateful for what I gave him and it does make it easier for him. I just woke up now and I can hear him downstairs so it doesn't sound like he was successful, he's got one more hour. The French guy is talking to him now so maybe he's giving in.

If he can't get home and it was genuine and I could have helped him more is where I'll feel bad. He is leaving his things here over Christmas and his tuition fees have been paid for the year.

English guy told to Greek guy that he is not coming back after xmas so they decided that they can borrow some money and dont give a shit.
English guy came up with idea that he can do "I lost my credit card" trick and here we go.
But English guy get easily 120 pounds and he wants MOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAR so the Greek guy is pushing you to give him even more and he can bought "I wanna be gamer gear" for the xmas : )
END: 200 pounds are TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.

I know how you feel bro and it's nice that people like you are out there.

Here is what you do: transfer the money to him using a credit card like VISA. I know in Canada, if you get scammed legitimately, VISA has insurance that will cover you and give you back your money.

I hope I'm not too late lol
