I thought you guys would enjoy seeing some of the sights from BlizzCon. This year, my wife and I went and we had a blast.
BlizzCon of course was held again this year in Anaheim, California in the convention center. We foolishly believed that leaving at 5:30 AM and getting there before 7 AM would spare us much of the line... So we drove.
so this is what early morning looks like....
Dispite getting there before 7 AM (the doors open at 10), The first thing we encountered of course was the epic line to get in...
greatfall hwaiting!
The convention center itself was huge and apparently Blizzard had rented out even more of it this year than years past.
Epic sign.
The first thing you are treated to when you walk through the front doors is a very tall and detailed statue of Jim Raynor.
Not far away was this amazing statue of the Queen of Blades, Kerrigan.
And a mini Tychus...
Pretty soon Day[9], Tasteless and Artosis began casting live matches! It was just to much awesome for one room to hold. They did a great job and the excitement level was electric. Even people who didn't own SC2 were entranced.
This is the stuff nerd dreams are made of.
Players flew in from around the world for a shot at 20 grand and this pimped out SCII NFL style ring.
NERDBLING
And look who I bumped into. None other than the one and only Dustin Browder.
And NexGenius Such a manner guy.
NexGenius fighting!!!
Loner really put on a great show, and although I didn't know him before BlizzCon, he really won me over with his determination. Here he is leaving the booth after a great game.
Great job Loner!
Oh damn, there is TLO... then POOF he was gone and all I got was the back of his shirt... T_T;;
Husky was there to, very nice guy. They misspelled his nametag "Huskey". He was more than a little irked about that.
H to the uskey?
And if you guys remember from my blog entry about my experience at Day[9]s launch party, Sean had autographed my Zerg Hydralisk figurine (below).
So, it was fitting that I would get his brother, Tastless' autograph now months later on the other side of the hydralisk.
I swear this thing now brings me luck in my games.
I got some more autographs, here is my mousepad..
Autographs include: Artosis, Day[9], Tasteless (such a BM tasteless oversized autograph J/K), Dustin Browder, NexGenius, Husky.
It was truly a great time. I would have loved to make the TL meetup at Double Tree but we had to miss it due to unexpected circumstances. All in all it was great except for the long lines. I hope to see you guys there again next year!
