Then maybe you are searching in the wrong place and MMO isn't your genre. Because in WoW it's pretty easy to grind up to the max level but games like Cabal or Silkroad or Aion...it's hell.

LoL is an MMO but not an RPG in the sense that very little of what you do game to game is carried over... and there is no persistent world. Maplestory isn't that grind if you can find some friends to party with. It used to be crazy grind, but now, it's actually really easy. You do the island quests (which teach you the game mechanics and give you sick new items) until you are level 8/10. Then, you can pretty much quest your way to level 21. Or just hang with some friends at pig beach or training grounds. (probably takes 3-4 hours to get to level 21 if you know what you're doing. So this part is the grindiest). Then when you get to level 21 you just play PQ until 31. It's super fun, if you know how to play. You get cool items and can use stupid emoticons to piss your teammates off. It's all very hilarious. Then you can do the vanilla quests from 31 to 35. This again takes like 3-4 hours if you know what you're doing. Pretty annoying imo. Then 35-51 you can just do CPQ. CPQ is like the funnest shit ever. I often spend 2-3 days making characters just so I can make an awesome CPQ character. CPQ is the most fun part of maplestory period. It's the closest thing you get to PvP, and plays as a team vs. team pro-fest where you launch waves of creeps at your opponents, and can buy all kinds of disables. Omfg I think i'm gonna get back into Maplestory... If only you could CPQ after level 50... T_T I haven't played in like 2 years now, but I remember so many times that heartbreaking feeling you got when you turned level 51 and you were like... "Now what?" Damn, we should start a MapleStory TL guild.

And to be honest, Runescape had me hooked for longer, so try it out! :D

Oh. There's a WoW clone in that forum section, though, that's definitely a MMORPG. It's also free.

Each time I hit 55ish, my friends and I just all created new characters. If there has been an increase in content for this level range since the last time I played, I would be super excited to start anew.

I'd pretty much agree on Allods if you want a WoW clone with lots of PvP. You'll never get ggnore levels of equipment w/out plunking cash at the end-game though. PvE... well, pretty much every grind-Korean type of MMO does that nicely in spades.

If you are looking for something largely community and team based, I would suggest Runescape. Runescape has highly developed communties and fanbases, and Runescape clans are the most serious clans out of any mmorpg on par with WoW. PvE is garbage, but PvP is really good. It's more team oriented rather than individual skill. If you enjoy fast paced action/fighting games, I suggest Lunia. The only way I can describe Lunia is a fighting game with items and levels. There isn't any sort of ideal build in lunia because it's all about how you control your character. Your character grows stronger as you get better at the game, not as you gain levels and get better gear. If you enjoy the typical MMO style PvP and couldn't care less about leveling and gear and such, you can try out Guild Wars. Guild Wars 2 is coming out soon and it looks promising.
