Totally gross.
And what about those filthy soccer players. Super sweaty, spitting and snorting on the ground while their clothes are covered in dirt.
Ugh, it makes me sick. Good thing women are interested in tactics and strategy otherwise the World Cup would be a total sausage fest.
Get some class retarded kickball players.
And have you seen a football or hockey player take off their helmet after a game? Ewww. If your hair isn't styled 100% I don't want to see it. Please wash it you disgusting pig.

Great... I just puked over my $8000 Filco Keyboard with diamond switches.

Girlfriend here, I just wanted to make a distinction that many players here are seeming not to realise

Toned, tanned, tall sports players are one of the biggest reasons us girls watch sports. Seeing a football player drenched in sweat is pretty hot

However, seeing a pasty pale nerd that obviously does no work on his figure is pretty unappealing. Atleast in korea they work out every day :D. Its just a suggestion for your cause here, I think it would be really cool to see starcraft on the big screen! you can call me superficial, but thats just the simple fact of american media

I think you don't see players in korea sweating as much because they don't sit down and play an entire OSL in two days.

This can't really be changed.

Multitasking in sc is very stressful and causes your body to release a lot of adrenaline, converting your stored fat/carbs into energy. But since you're just sitting in 1 place and not doing a lot of physical activity, the energy just turns into heat.

To not sweat you'd need to take a pill to retain water or something, but then you'd overheat very easily and it's not healthy.

I don't think we are on the same wavelength.

First of all athletes like football players are toned because they need to workout to be competitive in their sport. Gamers don't need to work out and in fact it could possibly have negative effects (incontrol can possibly clarify). Being tanned is irrelevant... if you think gamers should be going to tanning salons or something then I don't really have much to say. As for tall... what in god's name are you suggesting right now? Why did you even think mentioning that was at all relevant?

How are the gamers you see when observing games different from the athletes you see during a sporting event, in terms of pastiness? I'm just not getting what your complain is. This is what I've taken out of this thread and your post:

"I wish gamers were physically sexier." What do you actually PROPOSE? At the last event I went with I stayed at the same place as one of the players and I know for a fact he showered before he went to bed and AGAIN when he got up. What else should have have done? Hit the gym for 30 minutes every morning? I'm not saying that's a terrible suggestion but most of the best gamers don't fit that profile. There is a fundamental difference between football and computer games unfortunately.

I guess superficial people who watch a game because the contestants are sexy and not because of the content I can live without (not profiling girls since guys do this too re girl's volleyball). But yeah it's a bit unfortunate.

better a/c? The place was already cold enough.

Plus its not MLG that invests in that, its the convention center, which has amazing A/C.

Last thing White-Ra needs is more bitches. Between marriages, pimpin' and illegitimate children he barely has time to make noobs cry.

In fact ... he's probably using spray-on sweat to deter women while he trains.
I think esports is pretty nice.

I think your post is a load of bullshit is what I think.

Yes, I am really sure that the main force holding back e-sports in the west is that the players get too sweaty.

It's not that for decades video games in the west have been attributed to school shootings, dead babies, ruined families, lost educations, anti-social behaviour, addiction, sexism, and immorality among a myriad of other things.

And it's certainly not because the average westerner still thinks video games are just that, games. Useless time wasters and nothing close to a multi billion dollar industry or a social medium that connects millions of people around the world.

But no I'm sure you're right, as soon as we start surgically removing sweat glands from the players, e-sports will be welcomed with open arms to a community of people that have been debasing the entertainment medium for decades and still have little to no understanding of not only its economic but social worth too.

The only thing that's going to make e-sports accepted in the west is time and games like farmville.

I'm sure zealots and marines are well build and athletic.
I don't really care about the 'gamers'. I want starcraft on my screen imo. Who cares the players controlling them are not atheltic, as long as they play well and starcraft looks good.
It's just judging a quality of a painting by the looko of the painter, which I think is rediculos.

From Joshy's picture blog,
[image loading]

He seems fairly normal here, though I didn't see the moment you were talking about.

Anyways seriously you are pulling the "sweaty nerd" card? Jeez... Maybe it's partly due to the fact that (from my brief googling) the Ukraine is about 10 degrees C atm whereas DC seems to be around 20+ degrees. Although I have no idea how long WhiteRa had to adjust to the environment, it seems fairly normal that someone coming from a cooler climate into a warmer one would take some time before got used to such a large temperature difference.

Note I have no idea about the intricacies of sweating works and this post is basically all stuff that is probably not scientifically accurate.

I think it would be nice if people can clean things up a bit but it's completely unfair to compare esports to sports because in the majority of sports, you HAVE to be fit/athletic in order to do well and the media defines "hot" as muscular and buffed. Have you seen a professional football player that isn't muscular/fit? That'd be like me saying that I like girls with a super toned body and why can't professional knitting be more like gymnasts to make it more appealing to guys.

That being said I do like the shirt and sport coat requirement for the casters... even though people were complaining in chat that it looked shitty I think it makes them look a bit more professional. I'm wasn't too fond of Husky showing up to MLG raleigh in a hoody and looking like he just woke up for his 8 o'clock class with his hair all sticking up.
