Wookie Cookies are a twist on a beloved classic, the chocolate cookies. I cooked some tonight and now with this blog you can cook some too! They're absolutely delicious and eating them may or may not turn you into a giant space wookie.
This is a recipe from the OFFICIALLY LICENSED STAR WARS COOK BOOK that was released along with the infamous Star Wars Christmas Special.
First gather all your ingredients. You need:
# 2 1/2 cups of flour (maybe more maybe less, more on this later.)
# 1 teaspoon baking soda
# 1 teaspoon salt
# 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
# 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
# 1 cup packed brown sugar
# 1/2 cup granulated sugar
# 2 large eggs
# 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
# 1 cup milk chocolate chips
# 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Before you do anything preheat your oven to 375 degrees farenheit.
Throw your baking soda, salt, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and flour in the bowl. Now with the flour I suggest starting with just 2 and 1/4 of a cup. Bake one cookie and if it comes out thin add an extra 1/4 of a cup. Repeat until the cookies puff up to a size you like.
Mix everything up, it won't take long. Next you're going to add your eggs, butter, and vanilla extract. With the butter, I prefer to add just 1 stick at a time. Once I have the first stick nice and mixed into the bowl, I add the second. It's much tougher to work with 2 sticks of butter at the same time and this saves me some time and some work.
Mix it all up well and you get this:
The vanilla extract will make everything nice and moist, the dough should be smelling really good right now. If you have an electric mixer now is the time to use it:
Pour in the chocolate chips and let it mix for a few more seconds:
If you can resist eating all of the cookie dough, you'll be ready to put the cookies in the oven. You'll want to cook them for about 10 minutes. Spread them on a cookie sheet like so:
and you get this:
The last step is to enjoy your delicious cookies. The recipe will make about 3 dozen cookies. You can try experimenting with more/less cinnamon, I made a pretty good batch with 1 tablespoon versus 1 teaspoon but you may prefer the more subtle flavor in the standard recipe. Enjoy your cookies TL.
I've been cooking a lot lately and I've been learning pretty quick. I meant to make a blog for my stuffed salmon but I didn't do it. So I gave you a simple cookie recipe instead :3
