Some of you people on TL know sYz-Adrenaline aka Bliss[AoV] aka Jeremy and that he has been recently deployed for a year. He's still in the states for another month or two but then he's over to Kuwait. So what can a girlfriend do? Send care packages of course haha ^_^
I've sent him one already but that's cause he forgot a couple... a lot of things when he left suddenly (We all thought he had another week before leaving because of his surgery).
The next one I'm sending is a Halloween package. This box is full of candy (MnMs, Candy Corn, Reese's, etc.), Mt. Dew, Funny Bones (really good pastry), and some horror movies including a couple of sub'd Japanese horror (Samurai Zombie and Blood, both really good). Then for Christmas I was gonna send some cookies, Santa Hat, present, plus instant snow you can get on thinkgeek haha.
He'll be home for his Birthday hopefully so I'm not worried about that but other then those three holidays, I don't know what else to send him for packages or when else to send him packages.
Does anyone have some more ideas I could do? If not, I'll probably just be sending cookies/candy because he'll have internet and before he left, I gave him my Terabyte with 600+ movies haha so he should be all set for that too. I just kind of got lost for ideas. And hopefully this post will get lost before he comes back on here since he only gets online every once and a while but I had to ask what other TL members thought would be great stuff to get while deployed haha Thank you for your help ^_^

Here's what I usually see in care packages.
1. Food. This is usually the #1 thing people look for when they get their care packages. Usually snacks and stuff that you can't get normally. However, this is a double edged sword, the people he works with might swarm to the package for this reason as well. It seems you have this covered, but be wary nontheless.
2. Newspapers/Magazines. Depending on if he has internet connection (He's in Kuwait; He should), this may or may not be the best option. Some places don't get things like this all the time, so it's nice to know what's going on the other side of the world occasionally.
3. Books/Comics. Not the same as Newspapers/Magazines, due to an entertainment factor as opposed to an educational factor.
4. Video Games/Movies. It seems you have this covered.
5. Bibles. Honestly, I don't know why people send these, if you're religious enough to read a Bible, I would assume you carry a pocket sized one anyways, but they get sent regardless.
6. Clothing. Since he's in the Army, I don't expect him to be able to wear anything out of uniform, but maybe sending him a pair of sunglasses or something would be nice (assuming he doesn't already have a decent pair). I've seen things from socks to underwear, to whole uniforms sent (don't do this, they're expensive).
7. Pictures. I know you probably see him online every once in a while, but it's nice to have something tangible to look at while you're working the long hours.
This is a general list of stuff I see sent. There's a few things you SHOULDN'T send though.
1. Sex-related items. He's in the desert. He's going to get lonely. Do not succumb to this, he'll get in more trouble than you know for having a fleshlight. In another story, I remember a coworker of mine got a blowup doll in one of his packages as a prank from his roommate. He spent the entire deployment hiding it, but it was hilarious when he opened up the box.
2. Alcohol. He can't drink it over there. Even if he could, they provide it over there for him anyways. Hell, don't send drinks in packages, it doens't usually turn out well.
3. Illicit items. Anything illegal here is illegal there. I don't expect you to be sending guns/knives/drugs over, but hell, it wouldn't surprise me at this point.
