Does it have to be Steppes? I averaged 4 minutes flat on Agria when doing my Terran AI Romp 100. Zerg/Protoss games were always under 3m5s unless the computer was being bitchy and didn't want to GG.

I'm interested to see how fast you can get it on other maps although for the purposes of comparison/competition steps is necessary since that's the one I played on :p
edit: working on the insane 8 comp ffa right now...
first game tried playing on megaton... I managed to clear my half but the terran from the other side of the map caught me out of position and took me out ._.

I think the reaper rush would be faster on Incineration Zone.
For the insane ffa achievement, if you want to get it really easily just play on Extinction as terran, make all the AI zerg, and lift to an island at the start and mass battlecruisers / ravens. Expand to the other island and high ground areas blocked off by destructible rocks.

Just count the GGs and when the second to last AI GGs, hit the last AI with all of your BCs.

Does it have to be a ladder map? I've been able to get 4:30 (I think that was it, I'll have to double check) cannon rushing on Agria Valley.

BBS gets a marine in a bunker next to the nexus before the first zealot. For Steppes, make 1 scv for a total of 7 on minerals, rally the next 2 scvs to the enemy, then make 1 more to mine. Make both rax ON TOP of the ramp at 10/11 then supply at home at 10/11. When the first rax is done make a marine and a bunker right next to the nexus. If you put the rax above the ramp, the probes won't panic and kill your SCV (I don't know why this is but it's true). Then just pump 2 rax rine and have the SCVs attack the nex to lure the probes to the bunker. I'm not at my computer but I think this is faster than 4 minutes... replay tomorrow night though, I promise.

I was hunting down hatcheries for another half hour I swear rofl.... it was refugee zerg!

Nice! That definitely seems faster than the reaper rush. Do you know why the scvs didn't start attacking the bunker building scv? That's what seemed to happen to me most of the time.

All I know is if you build your rax on top of the ramp they don't chase you. You can even build the rax below and float on other maps as long as the rax lands before you bunker.

Thanks! hmm can't seem to get this method to work. if i try the same building placements as the replay i'm getting mauled by workers. i can put down my BB below the ramp, but there's no way i can get the bunker down

Is it possible that a patch has affected the way the AI responds? Either that or maybe you aren't quite copying it right? I haven't tried recently.

I haven't tried recently. i have a feeling the new patch is affecting it. it also made cannon rushing for the 1v4 achievement on megaton a lot harder. also it makes reaper a lot less viable.
anyways, i just got the achievement anyways using 6 pool + spine crawler for zvz

I haven't tried it myself but I heard that the AI HAAAAAAATES cannons/bunkers/spines now.

Yeah I think the AI maphax now, so if you didn't get the achievements you wanted before, you probably won't get em so easily now.
On a lighter note, this build can still get you to 1200+ rank diamond TvT, TvP, even with the bunker nerf. Thumb down 4p maps gogogo!~

I think with the new build requiring a depot before bunker, it makes terran very difficult.
On the latest patches 1.1.2.16755 I used the Protoss Cannon Rush against Terran and completed Insane in 4:27 on Agria Valley. 9th Probe - send him to enemy on the low ground as close to minerals line as possible - build pylon train 10th probe build forge in pylon well clear to give you room. build 2 cannons on the low ground 1 either side of pylon wait... you need to time your probe to run to the high ground behind the gas so he arrives just after your cannons complete... his marines will attack you but just run past lay down 2 cannons to the minerals side of the gas. dont block yourself in.. then asap - put a pylon behind his mineral line and then when thats done - put two well place cannons.. once they complete, terran should GG. Against Protoss - they dont GG until you've pretty much killed everything..
