No Reaver or Dragoon model in Galaxy Editor

I added the campaign dependencies and there doesn't seem to be a Reaver or Dragoon unit or even a model for that matter (even though Blizzard promised grrrrrr!!!!!) in the galaxy editor.

Can anyone who has finished the campaign or knows a lot about the galaxy editor confirm that these units are actually in the game?

Reaver and Dragoon are not in the game, same for Corsairs T_T

They'll probably come in the toss expansions.

Somebody could still make a BW convserion by using Infestors for Defilers, Phoenixes for Corsairs, and Immortals or Stalkers for Dragoons. All with adjusted stats of course.


Is anyone planning to make a "BW on the SC2 engine" mod?

It just dawned on me that Tanks would be way too good, though, with their new AI. Zerglings are so much better at surrounding, too... Aw hell, the balance would be totally broken. BUT IT'D BE BROODWAR!

Can you mess with attack types and their effects on different armor types? From what I remember you couldn't do that in the WC3 editor, and if you can't do it in the SC2 editor then there will be problems trying to make BW clone there too.

You can do whatever you want to do, especially regards to this, in the sc2 editor.

Well a 100% BW clone would be pointless because of the pathing and what not (and the fact you could just play BW), an SC 1.5 (sounds kinda lame but whatever) is in the works though. Basically BW stats plus some new units and new mechanics (so that there is actually some point to playing it), rebalances because of SC2 engine, with the good old BW mechanics (SBS, no worker auto-mining hopefully), and muta/wraith/vulture/etc micro is mostly complete.

Before SC2 was released we had a pretty balanced mod going when I was playing it with friends. This is why I'm kinda peeved coz I was expecting the reaver and dragoon to be out on release.

I'm still mad they took the reaver out of the game...I still haven't got over it since they made the announcement it wouldn't be in.

The reaver was one of the most unique and original units in SC. True intellectual property. Almost everything else was adaptations from other games, in scifi, or fantasy.

The reaver had so much potential too. It was an armored, mobile factory. It could have made other things besides just scarabs. It could have had abilities. It could have been like a mobile nexus for collecting minerals, it could have been a shield battery, any number of things. Sigh.

Or they could get someone to do their own models. Not the easiest thing in the world, but I'd rather have a BW mod done right than have a few placeholder models.

Well they all exist in project resurrection (i think), if someone could help me figure out how to rip from there and stick it into SC2 that would be great. The firebat flames are so much better in project resurrection than SC2.

just reskin an infestor and mod it to shoot bombs, reskin a stalker and mod it to shoot balls derp
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)
