Made another thing today, this time a truncated icosahedron out of hackey sack units.
90 units, and a clusterfuck of colours
some time lapse pics of the construction:
This is the same shape made of PHiZZ units (same paper size):
ain't it cute
The PHiZZ units are far sturdier than the hackey sack units, which i'm afraid will fall apart if I drop it more than a foot or so. in fact, i don't think i would even want to try a larger shape with hackey sack units.
Check out my past blogs for more modular origami .
Our main tournaments trophy includes an origame, shaped depending on the season, is pretty cool, i got two, one was shaped like a star, summer season, dont know why a star lol, and the other is a little tree, for autumn, pretty cool things.
that's actually pretty different, being only one piece of paper.
not to say it's not awesome....
oh ur right. at least the folds are modular xp
you know i made myself an origami magic ball after watching that video from a 8.5x11 (i cut it down to 5.5x11 to have the same ratio of sides as the tutorial) its actually quite neat and didn't take very long
