I havent played SC2 yet due to certain circumstances but i pretty much have the feeling that alot of competition will be gone once its released, so going B- in ICCup shouldnt take too long. Just take your time and focus on your builds and timed attacks imo. Edit: Well i suppose your multi-task should prolly get better before u start learning timed pushes and shit. But just knowing ur timed pushes can help u win alot of lower level games even if ur multi task isnt up to par.

But that took like seven years of playing on Bnet prior.

I say go for it man, theres nothign like achieving a goal that youve thought out of reach for so long. Since you are a terran player, youll have to focus on mechanics alot but its definitely doable. 5starred bcuz bw > sc2

But i still tend to be able to reach it in about a week of serious play. I used to get FD wins until C+... Sadly there's not that many foreign players anymore (thx SC2) so B- is harder to get... Edit: Lol I completely didn't address the question. Uh. At least a year? Maybe two years?

But I also hate the TvP matchup so much which is the reason why I even did timing pushes in teh first place so that games would only be about 15 minutes~..it is almost as boring as TvT to me and makes me wonder why I even picked terran in the first place. I mean do you really want spend 30++ minutes on every TvP u play using the Flash Build? It's gets really discouraging when you spent the last 20 minutes turtleing waiting for that 2-1 upgrade and then when you finally move out, he comes in with storm, stasis and a ton of zealot goon before you have time to react and 8 tanks aren't in range to shoot his fukin units. Once that's over, he is remaxed from his 50 gateways in less than 2 minutes with the support of 5 expos. You start a new TvP game and then you do that all over again..turtle for 20 minutes.

reason being, you're much more likely to get games vs a lot of Koreans, and the average skill is higher (because it's about a ~6 month increase in skill of the general population and a ~6 month decrease in skill to the SC2 people who haven't been playing BW) .

I pretty much agree with this. You could obviously dodge koreans and learn a couple of solids builds, this should be able to get you to C+ pretty quickly (couple of months, if you really spend time on it)

I generally play during korean hours, I don't think they are too much better they just play differently. I got B- in first iccup season (with protoss though, clearly it's imbalanced) and it took 2 seasons to make B- with terran. I think the most important thing to practice first is just get your standard build to follow up to around the 10minute mark, play for shorter games (as your mechanics will improve over time you can practice more long term games) and play as much as you can with the same builds, deviate as you improve. Also, the korean-foreigner thing I don't buy one bit because the opponents you face will generate your skill improvement, so if the opponents are better and you are playing the same amount of games you should improve just as much, if not more.

but im playing this iccup season and im stuck at C+ rank lol , not sure if iccup become like twice as hard since sc2 or because you only play korean 99 % of the time now. most people right now are not B- or better curently , maybe in the past but right now im pretty sure the best foreigner cant get A- curently unless he restart play the game seriously and try hard . would be fun to know how many top foreigner still play seriously

Also hacked when he was his "high rank". To make this post a bit more helpful, I will say this. If you really wanted to get to B-, and took the time to study build orders, and mass game, it wouldn't take you too long if you put effort into it.

But, srsly this thread as a whole makes me sad. I've played for two seasons and I still haven't broken in to C-. I practically play against only Koreans, but I don't think that's an excuse.
