However I won't start working for the organisation until November/December. Since I've now (finally) got some direction for my future I can start planning a few things.
Once I start the job I won't have time for travelling for a few years (as it seems pretty intense) so I'd really like to go overseas for 4 weeks or so around October; and I have South America in mind.
I've made this blog because I've never been travelling before and would really appreciate some advice on how plan and carry out low budget travel and avoid any pitfalls etc, and also what are some places in South America to go that I haven't thought of. I've been thinking of taking a more east-west or vice-versa route, so far the only thing I've done is look up airfares which means from my country I'd probably be starting/ending my trip in either Buenos Aires or Rio de Janeiro.
So that's about it for now. I intend to keep this updated for the next few months till my itinerary is set.
First burning question for now: how long can I realistically wait before booking international flights or should I do that asap for an October trip.
Thanks a lot!
