QFT.
Seriously this has been the most badass beta of all time IMO. Yes it's very annoying when it does dumb stuff but shit happens. Better now than when the game is actually released.

Yes, the influx of players has dampened the quality sc2 forums here. (I'm guilty to signing up with the start of beta, but I'd been lurking since like late 2006. So I don't feel too terribly bad about myself.) And they don't seem to realize exactly what a beta is . . but oh, well. For a beta though this has been running more smoothly then some released online games I've played. It's only now just hit some bumps, but people don't have the patience or tenacity to wait a few days through beta to see what the trouble is.
Though I believe that complaining about the possible deterioration of the community may be understandable, I say wait it out a while. Hopefully the posters who treat these forums like a waste heap and don't even look to see if the problem has been talked about before, (R1CH's thread, *cough, cough*) will be banned or they will learn their lessons.
Big thanks to the mods BTW, been holding down like heroes in these slightly uncertain times.
The moral of my post seems to have turned out to be Patience. Just be patient for now. Even if I do get a bit queasy when looking at the sc2 forum.

I'm so glad Blizzard has experience ignoring all the whiners with WOW, so I'm sure they won't influence much.
I think people just jump to conclusions and rage way to easily.
I remember before Beta we had huge discussions about MMA and auto-mine, but it turns out that SC2 still has a large skill ceiling despite worriers.
I read a thread where people were whining that SC2 feels laggier than LAN latency SC1, but then people pointed out there was only a 20ms difference between the latencies.
Also, there's that massive micro whining thread where people assumed that the SC2 engine couldn't support move-shooting and then people easily demonstrated it could with the Galaxy editor.
Most balance issues could be fixed in less than an hour if you know exactly what parameters to fix. However, finding these parameters takes lots and lots of testing. Losing your faith in the game because it's not balanced is horribly stupid; if the source of the problem and the solution is known, it's most likely less than a 1 hour job and can be released in the next patch. We still have years left to find these problems and solutions.

I don't even touch th SC2 forum anymore. I'm just going to be completely ignorant of everything the beta is going through. It's better than gouging my eyes out.

Wow, never realized how many of these there were. Mods, great job at keeping them at bay, much appreciated.

raelcun doin what he does best thought i do hate the "its only beta!" retards, its true that we SHOULD expect there to be major instability to the system after patches and such, it makes it more likely there will be fewer problems at launch

I mean this far into the beta and this is the first MAJOR screwup okay there have been hiccups and medium level annoyances but this is the first time the beta just stopped working completely with no notice. Not too bad imo.
Edit: Even when everyone was getting reset every 5 minutes you could still play the game, if you were persistant enough you could log into your own account the game still functioned though the profiles weren't. That was the next worst flub by the beta I can think of.

I can already predict the game won't be balanced at the release. Those who expect it to be will be disappointed. There will be lag also and maybe some crash and a shitstorm of thread will pop up everywhere on TL the 27th June 2010.
Be prepared!!

I'm really concerned that people didnt read r1ch's post, (and also the forum guidelines in general for that sc2 forum).
Lot's of respect to the staff for trying their best to uphold quality, I think users need to do their part too and be responsible.

Op, thank you for saying what some of us are thinking ! Not to long ago when I started playing the beta I registered here to see what the more experienced players/persons/commentators thought of everything, and mostly there have just been a lot of whining at a beta.
Ty once again
EDIT:Now I dont need to rage in my own blog !

Actually nobody expects balance at release, and I'm pretty sure most people expect release to be far from perfect anyway
