[spoiler]I havnt seen anyone else do this and this is one of my favorite games (starcraft #1) and i just felt like doing this while making my big city.

Started in large region conected to two other cities. Built general road way. (cheated) used money tree. got the garbage shoot (Allows garbage to go into the abbyss of the unbuildable area.)
And just started working in middle of city and this is start so far. Posts will go on untill i finish city.

1. Expanded the residential and commercial zones.
2. Continued to build subway system.
3. Started on Monrail System.
4. Continued with Hospitals and Educational Facilities.
5. Added a land mark (Colt Tower.)

Omg...if I didn't have exams on Monday (and the SCII beta) I'd install this digital crack all over again.

I've yet to attain what I consider to be "the ultimate city." Good luck in our quest and please post more pics and tips as your city progresses =)

I got really tired very quickly of having to constantly micromanage all my public services so they weren't wasting money by overproviding. Never got nearly the amount of playtime that Simcity and Simcity2000 did, way back when.

Oh god, sim city 2000 was the best game ever. As a child, sim city 2000 and civilization 2 taught me more things about the world than school did. My teachers were always surprised at how much I knew (which were facts and stuff memorized from playing so many games) haha.

Looks interesting. But maybe it's better to have it on a bigger map to begin with...

Maybe you can post some screenshots on traffic volumes and directions. I have a feeling that most of your residents are not using public transportation. Some other graphs such as population distribution also helps.

Also, did you use a cheat? Looks to me that you have a hydrogen power plant, but looking at the facilities and population that you have you shouldn't have this kind of power plant available yet....

Yea but Sim City 4 is a lot harder. And downloading mods to balance and fix some of the games annoying bugs is a must.

edit: Ive been playing this for a loooong time, never get bored of it. Always come back after awhile.

yes i used you don't deserve it for the hydrogen power plant only. i also used the money tree mod.

Was there ever a mod released that your money stayed with you when you switched between regions? Because that annoyed the hell out of me. Id build up a region, and had a tonne of cash, then move to the block of land next door and had to start with almost no cash again. This aspect ruined Simcity 4 for me as it felt like I was just playing the same game over and over rather than building one massive empire.

I had simcity on my first computer and played the hell out of it. I was terrible and never made money or anything, but I was addicted to it. I also later got 2000 for my SNES and played that a lot. Such fun games.

I started playing this game at work and encountered a problem.
