Ok so first off, yes I am a girl but no, I'm not gonna post stuff like "OMG!! That outfit totally clashes!! :O". I'll probably post stuff more like how I hate the whiners on COD4 and how much paintballs sting when you get hit by a 20 bps gun at a 3 feet range in the square of your back *personal knowledge, it kills*
Just to give you a look on what kind of person I am, the best way to say is it that I am a geek. I'm the top in my computer class, I play video games all the time, and I love reading comic books.
I watch Family Guy, Futurama, Ugly Americans, and Big Bang Theory plus a couple of other shows.
If my boyfriend ever brings me to a chick flick, I will seriously question his sexuality. I prefer either horror, comedy, or action. Btw, best way to see if it's a good action movie is if there are 5 explosions in the first 15 minutes.
I play mainly on the PS3 but I rate the systems,

Nintendo 64
PS3 + 360
Wii
My PS3 games are COD4, COD4: MW2, Assassins Creed 1&2, Batman, Fallout3, MAG, Mortal Combat vs Dc Universe, FF7 FF9, and FF10. I play some Sherlock Holmes games and Star Craft on the PC.
um what else... I listen to just about everything under the sun except for Disney. There is no excuse for that. I listen to Classic Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, Blues, Country, Metal, Screamo, Rock, Alternate, and Techno.
I play paintball and family football. I watch hockey, Football, and baseball all the time. w00t Red Sox & Patriots & Bruins!!! I snowboard, run, and surf a lot during the right seasons. I love playing with fire ^_^ I also love fixing computers. I'm not afraid to get dirty which is why I absolutely love mudding. Funnest thing to do and worth cleaning up the jeep after. I also fish a lot so if your squeamish, we might not get along to well.
The last thing I want to say is I am dating a guy named Jeremy and I spend every minute I can with him right now because he is leaving on September 11th to Kuwait with the Army. Don't talk bad about the army around me btw. All I will have to say is that if you won't stand behind our soldiers, then feel free to stand in front of them. But I love him so much and I'm proud to say he is my boyfriend and hero. I will miss him more then anything when he is gone.

I'm not particularly offended or anything, but we have enough 'tits or GTFO' types on TL who will ask for photos and then call you ugly to your face without girls coming on here and advertising themselves as 'normal.' It seems kind of sad. I hope you can blog with some more content in the future. Since aside from Susie, Smix, Emlary and myself (plus a couple of others.) there aren't many active women on here.
Btw, I hate romantic comedies too. Thankfully I tell people a flat out no if they try to make me watch them. (Alongside stuff from Pixar which I find mind-numbing.) What comic books do you read? I used to work in two comic shops back home and I tore through their Marvel section like there was no tomorrow. I'm also a fan of things like 30 Days, Walking Dead etc. Anything with a horror over/under-tone.

I read a lot of the classics. I look through yard sales and find what ever looks interesting. Mainly Marvel too. The newer ones I read are Supernatural, Ferryman, and Ghost Busters. I have about 1000 now haha :D

He thought that people who always talked bad about soldiers and the Army didn't really understand what was going on. That they should think a little more about it. I do know that there are people who don't deserve to have any respect show to them. I only wanted people not to talk bad about the Military around me because my brothers, uncles, cousins, aunts, Granddad, and boyfriend is in the Military. I felt that the quote was a good one because when people think about that, and what the soldiers have to face, they realize a little more about the job of being in the military.

i think it's great to have pride in your family. it's when we make sweeping generalizations about anything that we get ourselves into trouble.

I tried to get into (some of) the older titles, but I am such an eye-candy junkie I just can't get used to the use of thick inking and such blown-out colors that's used for the majority of the really vintage work. When I left England my Mum ended up with 30 boxes mostly filled with comics/books/magazines. She only lives in a small house so I felt kind of awful dumping it all on her.

I used to do the same thing with archive floors in Forbidden Planet back home. It was so much fun going there and never knowing what old or rare issues you could pick up for next to nothing.

Yeah I love it. I was able to pick up the comic for a dollar and found out it was worth about 50 ^_^ but I normally like to just find the comics to read them. Plus I love the smell of the old comics haha nothing beats it.lol

Obese people do not deserve respect. These are people that are absolutely disgusting and have no self-control. Someone who cannot respect themselves does not deserve respect. Obviously this doesn't apply to people with real diseases that do not allow them to exercise or lose weight.

I'm not talking about morbidly obese people who need to drastically adjust their lives if they want to keep on living either. I just find people who get to that point somewhat mystifying unless they have very understandable reasons for being that way (such as a proven medical condition or taking drugs for something else which causes their weight to balloon - or some kind of extreme trauma such as losing their family.) Those who end up like that because of parental enablers letting them live without employment and catering to their every whims frustrate me.

I love the whole 'bookstore/comic shop' smell and atmosphere. It sucks that there are absolutely no comic shops here. We only have a couple of merchandise stores that cater almost exclusively to Gundam kit makers and military model kits. I'm not a fan of either so it's a tad frustrating. The Japanese comic books here are sold in both Korean translation and original Japanese as graphic novels and tankubon/collected monthly books only. I buy only about three titles to swot up on my hangul and because I'm an art junkie. The Western selection consists mainly of currently popular stand-alones like Watchmen and V for Vendetta or DC standards such as Batman. There's hardly any Marvel available :/
I *love* the bookstores here though - they're so random in terms of what you can pick up in the Japanese and Western import sections. Sometimes it's like Xmas.

Another example is money. I am awesome with money. That is, I relentlessly spend everything I have on useless shit. She is a saver. Thus, with the best interests of our children in mind, I give her all the money and I get back an allowance.
On the other hand, I am a career oriented person while she does not feel especially called to a certain profession. She doesn't mind worknig but it isn't something she has to do. She would rather be at home when the kids get home. So, my strengths allow her to focus on her passion for family life without the pressures of feeling like she has to go out and work.
I wish people would consider the real nuts and bolts of their co-habitation which, in the long run, have more to do with happiness than the mushy emotional stuff.

Yeah, that's true but then again, we don't see anyone here on a day to day basis. All that we can judge someone by is on what they post on these forums, and based on what she wrote in the op, it did come off as an ad, imo.
I think the days of the internet being inhabited by guys whose only communication with women included their mom, sister and possibly their teacher are somewhat gone--especially on TL. Yeah the ratio is still quite large, but I don't see people being treated that much differently. The girls that are treated in high regard just happen to also contribute a lot (i.e.mnm, lil susie and nevergg).

Actually, it wasn't my idea for her to join this website, she made the decision to join TL after seeing me on it a lot. Also it was her idea to write a blog and all that. Then it's people like you who have to make unnecessary comments as yourself.

Welcome to TL Miss Geek. I'm sure you'll feel right at home after a while.
A lot of people come off as assholes. And there is a good reason for this. TL's organization is a lot like this:

When you start at the bottom, and look up, all you see are assholes. Lots of them. Once you've been here a while, and you start to look down and see people underneath, all you end up seeing is shit. It's like a rite of passage. To move up, don't do anything too stupid (we all have our stupid moments, and everyone is understanding of that, just don't go overboard), and try to contribute in a positive way once in a while.
The guy on top of TL? I'd have to say R1CH. You'll learn why if you don't already know.
Don't get discouraged by any of the assholes you see. This community is awesome.
