Aaaaaahhhhhh, it's pissing me off that soooo many people these days think they're being Freud or Jung (at least in my school). Every time anybody does anything extraordinary, people are like, oh yeah, he's just overcompensating for [insert factor] in his life. Like these people I know, see a huge six pack on this kid at the gym, and everyone is automatically like, "oh yeah, this guy's just overcompensating for his small dick. Why else would he work out so much?"
I'm like WTF IS THIS BS? Has everyone seriously gotten so fucking narcissistic that they have to find some ridiculously far fetched excuse whenever someone else does something amazing?
And the standards have gotten pretty ridiculous. I go on dates with girls where I'm like, talking about my achievements like any sane man would, then the girl suddenly starts flipping out and saying, "wow, you obviously have a lot to prove."
SERIOUSLY, THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.
Even if bodybuilders were compensating for small dicks, so what? They're still BETTER than you because of the overcompensation. I don't know why people think it's such a bad and pathetic thing to try to make up for your weaknesses by excelling in something else.
I mean, Napoleon was short, and I don't think anyone doubts that he's one of the most epic human beings to ever walk the planet.

I agree about the first part. People are just being insecure and jealous when they say things like 'he tries too hard' or what have you... But the part about you talking about yourself on dates kind of made me lol. You probably just went on too long, be more humble

Yeah, most people are just negative by nature. If they see other people moving up in life, they would want to drag you down to make themselves feel better about their own positions.
But the story with the girl, there is a difference between actually accomplishing something and talking about personal accomplishments too much. If you don't talk about it in the right way, Some people can interpret that as bragging and that sometimes just ain't good.

I also noticed you capitalized the first letter of every word in the title of your blog. Have a lot of important official things to say, don't you? Overcompensating for something in real life?
Also worrying about what others say about people other than yourself is you compensating for the fact that people are actually talking about you and this blog is actually an attempt to rally support by citing it as an objective perspective on a third party.

Can't help but think this is a troll, the part about you talking with girls about your achievements like "any sane man would" just seems a bit off.
I'll respond to the other part though because i like discussions like this. Mostly when people over compensate it is because of an underlying insecurity, but you gotta be careful about what you label as "overcompensating" because you dont know the thought process behind what they're doing. From personal experience, when i started going to the gym many people thought it was to get girls, but really it was because i played soccer for 5 years, quit, and wanted to stay healthy.
Another thing, people in highschool usually just say shit like that to enlarge their ego. Its highschool, who cares what they think.
