The computer is pre-built and came with a 320GB partitioned hard drive (C: and D: partitioned 305/15)
C: is the main one and D: is the backup drive, but now my D: is maxed out and the computer won't allow me to create any restore points in D:, so I can't download or add any files to my computer.
Is it possible to partition again so that I get 260/60 Partition instead of the original 305/15?

In administrator tools. If you are maxed out on restore points you should probably getrid of some of the other ones don't you think?

youll lose all your data if you do that...not sure if theres a way to partition without this happening...

1.) Delete some restore points?
2.)Partition Magic

System Rescue is really good in my experience:
http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page
Easy to use and has never failed me... I'd make sure to back up your data on DVDs before I messed around with partition sizes though. Ya never know...

I'd say you could try Parted Magic. http://partedmagic.com/
Otherwise, you can also do it in administrative tools or w/e that was called in Windows.

I would just delete some restore points... why would you need that many?

are you on vista or 7. They both have a nice partition resizing tool. diskpart.exe is what its called ithink

this. get something called "unetbootin" for windows (i assume you're using windows) and you can make a bootable flash drive . just make sure your flash drive is bootable. i think this is the safest method as you can see which paritions are which in a nice graphical manner and also all your partitions are unmounted so you don't have to worry about that.

Vista and Windows 7 have in-built partitioning functions. Right click on my computer, then click manage, then disk management on the left. Shrink the C:/ partition first to free up some space, then extend the D:/ partition to fill in the gap.

Okay, I used the drive manager thingy and I have 45GB of unallocated space, but I can't extend the size of my D drive and only lets me extend in the C Drive(which I shrunk 45GB to get the 45GB unallocated)

Ok just delete win32 it's really easy.

You shouldn't have to pay for anything just to partition or format your disks.

I did it the hard way. I had to format the partition before I could expand it. Just put your transferable files onto a portable hard disk or flash drive before formating it and recreate the restore points after you formated it.
