Anyways, I am currently smurfing like an ass just because when I play ICCup I want peace and quiet environment to mass game. Sometimes it's hard to have online friends if they push it too hard, and sometimes you just need some peace state of mind to try maximize your games. You see, problem is in mental fasion — you can play whole day, practice as hell but your mind is only limit in that aspect.
You can force yourself — right, but after some time you will burn out. So best way is to make decison you will play hard and try your best without anyone disturbing you and when you fell you can't play correctly anymore — you just take a break and continue later. Just like in any other game — just press «Pause», take rest and after that game on
Far...far from anything that I don't like to play with my friends from clan. I love those guys and I enjoy gaming with them, but sometimes there is difference when playing for fun and playing to improve, it really is. Maybe it sounds too harsh but well — man gotta do what a man gotta do
So, I just hope noone gets offended with my little writings over here, it's just one point of view. When I just get enough of games on smurf account I just transfer it and play more casual games. Also, you can take break from «pracitce hard games to improve» and play some for fun games with your teammates or other friends, even team games (2v2,3v3,4v4 etc.) to break monotony.
But there is another thing here — you can play with your teammates for practice and it's best way to improve as Starcraft player. You can analize replays with your teammates, you can talk about strategies and his or your's mistakes and how to fix them, an best of all — you improve in same time and in nearly indendtical fasion.
So I will surely try to (because of arguments that I did write up) play more «serious» games with my teammates and in general try to play theme more so we can socialise and get better together. I had problems with playing teammates and I still have — I just don't play on my regular level, either I just make it «for fun» too much or I'm nervous or have some mental block that prevents me to play solid game. I'm not alone and many people has this problem, but I think only way to get rid of it is just to relax and play more with your teammates and people you know better.
In end of the day:
It's fine to smurf and play «hard» but it's also great to play bunch of games with your mates from clan and friends you know better in general so you can both improve, get better friends and have fun ( and also improve a lot faster with looking into both's mistakes and talking about it and etc.)
Suma Summarum:
Play hard and mass games is the best way to improve in any case, it just depends how you do it and with who — that will decide outcome of your improvement
