nice list, but not very adventurous i gravitate towards those red, hot, spicy soup-broth-pot things namely, there is hae-jang-gook, chu-uh-tang, various jeon-gols, gam-ja-tang
on the non-spicy side, sun-dae-gook rules imo
unrelated but good, touring the seaside of korea (it is a peninsula u know) and feasting on their seafood specialties (fresh clams, sashimi for cheap price) fucking rules

Personal favorite for me is Sul-Luh Tang and Yook-Geh Jahng.

I feed on shin ramen all the way through college. My stomach spasm when I see a pack of shin in super market now.
Korean food is awesome sub to Chinese food but Soju is meh.
|
i like to jibe that the british have nothing better than fish and chips to eat, which seems a rudimentary, simplistic dish, especially comapred to korean food strangely enough, it does have a strange and strong attraction, especially when i feel really hungry

Hey man, if you want Fish and chips try Smokey Saloon (스모키 살룬)! There are a few around Seoul and it's like the only place I go for burgers, I think they're the best burgers in Korea (but if you have any better TELL ME NOW).
Their fish and chips arent like back home, but... it's actually better then I expected (especially the chips) and they have tartar sauce and what have you...
I know there are branches in 이태원, 명동, 시청... dunno where else (I'm a 강북 guy : ) ) Oh there's one in 압구정동.
I heard rumours of a better fish and chips place in 홍대 too but I dunno if that's real.
Pics in this blog (http://blog.naver.com/osale?Redirect=Log&logNo=80072549607)
Come on it has a burger called 'Ambulance' for crying out loud... and apparently that wasn't strong enough so they made 'Ambulance II' which has like 3 eggs and bacon or something ridiculous. : )

wtf? 6-9000 for 삼겹살? There's a place in sinchon that sells for 3000 plus soju is 1000
Also, have you tried 맛있는 라면? Not sure if they make it anymore but it was as good as they claimed.

I used to go to those buffet places in sinchon a lot but... oh man... the quality of the meat becomes noticeable after a few times.
|
Oh by the way... I started eating Ogyeopsal recently... oh man... that stuff is crazy
edit: I never got into ramen : (... but I do like the 라면 Gom-tang, I'm like the only person I know who likes Kalguksu

This thread makes me hungry for some of that french toast.... No idea why you would put strawberries on it, get some golden syrup! The best way to eat it.

Hey I got a question for you ramen peoples. How do you cook the egg in it so that it doesn't turn into little flakes all over the soup?
|

What I do is break the egg in a cup or bowl and mix it as if it was going to be an omelet. Then ~1 min till it's done I drop it in and let it cook about 20-30 seconds until it comes up then mix it a bit to break it up in smaller pieces

I bring the water to the point where you get bubbles forming, but it isn't fully boiling. Then I crack the egg in and turn the heat down to low and just let it form. Usually it'll only flake up if the water's boiling too violently
|
lol two different methods, I need video proof now.
So like what I do normally, is boil water, throw in veggies for a minute. Then I put in the ramen and cook it. About half way through it cooking I drop the egg in it and just let it sit there until it's more hard, but it spreads around and breaks into flakes or it just makes a big chunk of egg.

What I do is cook ramen (jin or shin for maximum tastyness) as normal in stove pot, and have an egg already stirred up in an empty bowl. After ramen is done, pour into bowl and quickly mix noodles with the egg. This makes it so the egg coats the noodles instead of the broth. And make sure not to overcook your noodles! #1 noob mistake

I put the egg in first, because I want the yolk to cook through and ramen takes like two minutes to cook.
|
Shin ramyun is so easy to make my 9 year old sister can make it (better than me >>...) I cook it by filling up my stove pot with water half way and boil it till it starts to bubble alot. i put in the noodles and i use a big spoon thing to press it into the pot so it can unharden itself faster. after about 1 minute, i put in the veggies and the spice. (veggies first~)i wait about a minute or 2 and then i put in the egg so it doesnt fully cook. the noodles taste really good if you pop the egg and mix it around like san-tokie said. and yea overcooking your noodles makes it taste so bad x_x
