I don't have a Razer mouse (planning to get Krait anyway), but when choosing a new one, I'd always look for the comfort, can't really play if your mouse does not fit in your hand. I dunno about you but the weight factor is also my concern, I can't play with heavy mice.
On Razer mice, they're really created for gaming and they have buttons that you can set to specific commands in-game. For example you can press the side buttons to select different weapons while playing CS or other games, I'm not sure if you can do the same for SC though. If you'll get a Razer mouse, consider the games/programs (I think you can also use those customizable buttons for Photoshop) you have on your pc. I only have StarCraft here so I'll most likely get a Krait.

just get the logitech optical mini, that's what all the pros use nowadays.
Or you can go with a logitech G1-G3 or just a basic razer, check for deals on older models around the webs. I got a razer for 13 bucks from some deal.

Get a wmo 1.1a/imo 1.1a if you don't mid low dpi. They can be hard to find, but are generally very cheap and reliable.

There are a million posts about this so I won't really give much detail, but if you want a mouse that'll last a long time and will give you perfect performance for both SC and SC2, I'd suggest either a Logitech G3 or a Razer Salmosa (preferably asian edition, but both are just great). I prefer the Salmosa for pure gaming, but having two extra buttons on the G3 isn't bad for basic navigation (the salmosa only has three buttons).
In my opinion, other Razer mice, or steelseries mice in general, are just way too expensive for what you get (they aren't bad, just way overpriced).
I'm not a mouse expert though : ) I've just used many and gamed a lot, and right now I can't stand using any other mouse than the two I recommended because they're that awesome...
Edit: It's true that pros use the LMO for SC:BW, but he might as well buy a mouse that allows him to play games that require some higher dpi (like, say SC2). The only advantage the LMO has over other mice is it's price, but it isn't very polyvalent.

I like my G1, it's what pros use for starcraft, it's very durable and its dpi is good enough so that I doubt I'll have any problems playing SC2.
It's very very easily found in mainland China for ~100 RMB but I heard it's really rare or discontinued in other countries, dunno about Singapore.

Do any Logitech Mini Opticals get sold with cords anymore? I tried to buy one with a cord and theres like 10 different types of cordless Logitech Mini op. Are they sold in any particular stores in Australia? (Latter a question to Australias).

starcraft 2 is coming out soon, so i'd go for mouse with better stats and dpi. Razor is a good place to get a mouse, so i'd recommend them.

Go to your local electronics store and try out what they have. Go purely for how well it fits your hand. Don't go looking for an expensive Logitech or Razer mouse thinking they are vastly superior. If you find a cheap no-name mouse most comfortable, then so be it. Almost all optical mice are "good enough" from a technical point of view. If you want to save a few bucks, order the mouse online instead of buying it in the retail store.

hahaha, razer synapse. thats pretty funny. anyway i'd recommend the krait, but i only got the krait initially cause my laptop mouse was crap and SC was not playable on it, and i wanted something "replacable," ie if i broke it i could buy the exact same mouse, and won't have to get used to another mouse. but it was a really good mouse except the non stick pads wore out pretty quickly.

my g5 just broke as well. apparently they can only handle 8,000,000 clicks before the buttons stop working.
I'm looking for another mouse that can handle a lot before dying, needs to be comfortable as well(like my g5 was) Also needs to never malfunction during games(like my g5 did)

Didnt bisu have his Soccer mouse for much longer than 6 months but?
I know he recently requested a new one, and he had a Soccer mouse at Daum OSL. Did he replace them or keep if for 1.5 years approximately?

My friend somehow convinced me to buy a Razer Death Adder a couple years ago. He's from Santa Barbara so that should tell you something. The size makes it really comfortable. Normal mice feel small to me now.
Anyway, for any mouse you'd get, I'd highly recommend one with 5 buttons since you should be able to bind keys to the extra buttons. So you can do something like bind Ctrl to the buttons or put patrol on your mouse or even some F keys.

Thats what im using, i like it a lot.
I also have an mx518 but after a few years the right click is dying on me during games so i'm back to the logitech soccer miniob which works like a champ

I have a Razer Salmosa, its very nice and relatively small as far as gaming mouses go. Costed me $40 USD.

Or if you want a good looking but way overpriced mouse you can get a krait or diamondback. But they're both bigger than mini op.
Deathadder is like mx5XX but more fragile. There is only 1 thing that makes me want to play deathadder rather than mx510 and it's its look. Only that.
Don't get fooled by their marketing brand shitty new technologies or whatever.
That's all there is to it.

My Salmosa cost 20 Euro (+ shipping). I'd expect them to be cheaper in the US, actually, but seems like I was wrong there.
It occasionally makes ugly noises when clicking, probably some parts are touching that should not.
But what can I expect, 50% of the hardware I order is somehow damaged... And no I don't go for the cheapest offers, and the shop I use isn't exactly known for bad quality either (though they shouldn't play a role in that aspect). /whining
I also got a Logitech Mini Optical (15 Euro), but it is completely useless for anything but Starcraft, because the sensitivity is way too low for a 1920x1200 desktop resolution.

Hmm I just tested my friends krait.. It fits nicely and feels pretty alright.. But it's a whole lot lighter than what I'm used to. Was kinda hard to move accurately cause I'd keep overshooting.
