Is it BM to leave a game after you completely fail a split and send one of the peons past one (or make it jump over one) of the mineral patches to the back?

I would consider leaving after your gas gets stolen (before 2 minutes) to be BM, but would this count?

they fail split, then say 're' and expect me to join again.

If you "gg" and leave the game, it might be okay... well, on ICCup it'll be annoying because the game will be counted as a draw.

When things like this happen to me, I say "a good player should be able to beat a D player even after losing one drone... so I just need to play better!" and then I get owned anyway.

I don't think I'd consider it BM to leave after a failed split, it's just mildly annoying and a slight waste of time, but nothing to be offended about. I've never left from a bad split though, I don't see it as big enough of a disadvantage to warrant actually quitting. Only time I probably would leave after split is if I managed to permanently trap a worker or something.

And on the subject of leaving after gas being stolen, I'd consider that GM since you can report it and get a free win and they get a 250 point penalty :p

You can't seriously be asking that... it is so incredibly BM. Should you rejoin for every mistake you make? Man up and take the hit, not like it makes a difference at your level anyways.

I would say, just live with the split. The difference between a good split and a split that causes one of your scvs to go all the way around to the back of the minerals isn't game breaking.

I would consider it a little BM. When I match up with someone, my opponent and I are both agreeing to play a game. If I simply leave or demand "re" because of some little mistake I made, then I've just effectively wasted my opponent's time haven't I?

a bad split doesnt cost you much at all. the game is still going to be dependent upon mechanics and game sense way more than some worker hop over minerals stuff.

just eep playing.

This is like saying if all four of my starting peons don't come back at the same time, it ruins the mineral flow (because if they all come back at the same time, then sometimes the timings of building stuff seems to flow better), then you should leave the game. You're making your opponent waste some time playing a useless game for, at most, 8-16 minerals behind, and you just get away. It is very BM, and deal with it. It's about as BM as 4pooling on Python, and if you don't find him first, then you leave.

how can you seriously think you putting yourself at a disadvantage? You not even 8 minerals behind, they just delayed and your first worker will be made on time even if you split bad, you only need 50 minerals, not 64. lets say you made your 2nd worker with 6 minerals left and that drone coming back late to add 8 more, which will happen before others come back, so its 14 mins and you only need 36 which 3 drones cover on time anyways. So you continue making scvs nonstop no matter what, you not wasting 8 minerals either, they just delayed and its soo insignificant. Ive seen some really good players send all workers to 1 patch just bcause it was a friendly game and they were eating or talking on msn and then proceed to play for another 30 minutes in absolutely equal game

Instead of thinking about how minerals you're behind, think of it in terms of time. You're one, two seconds behind. At most. I've checked.

IIRC it was possible to get a worker stuck on Katrina (I think 3 o'clock) by jumping it over with a failed split. I would totally leave if that happened.

yea, this. if the scv is floating through minerals because of epic fail, then yeah, maybe. otherwise, the effects are negligible.
4v4 is a battle of who has the better computer.
