Aoe2 and some other stuff

Hey TL.net, sorry if you dont like the blog but i registered to a tournament of aoe2 (in an estonian forum). Being a more devoted RTS player i think i have an advantage over other guys but i dont really know much about the game. I know a lot of people here play aoe2 too (or atleast have played it some time ago) so have you got any good links i could find information about the game or any good tips for me like which race i should pick and so on

I dont have reps or whatever i just want to know like some more general stuff, how does the game flow and what's the best way to win and does high APM work in aoe2 :D

I found only ancient stuff from google like that old 20 knights in 20 minutes link.

Basically just proxy 1 barracks + 2 archeries as soon as u go feudal

attack with pikemen from barracks + archers from archeries

harass their resources site

so u should try to scout around his base

micro archers so they dyn get hit my town centre

towers to surround him is optional of course

edit: stupid ppl in my boarding house prefer this ums to sc ><

so i play a bit of aoe2

apparently its quite popular in my country

IMO there are 2 main strategies for AOE2

Fast Castle (Castle age = more tech w/ some siege weapons, and u can only expand until u reach Castle)

and Fast Feudal (to rush)

your 20 mins 20 knights build = fast castle

proxy 2 archeries = fast feudal

another variant to fast castle

is to get some knights and harass, keep him in base (kinda like 3 hatch muta)

then expand more urself and build up a bigger army

however this strat is not really proven against good players (I easily own the good aoe2 players in my school)

sc is really a lot harder T_T

I played this game about 7 years ago before I even discovered starcraft. Most of my matches would last like over an hour and the macro was much easier. It was a really fun game and I would play again.
