On a team level the top Asian teams are superior though. Song would like a word. The continent has produced a ton of players on that notch of ‘top player but not world class’ bracket, but yeah Africa does tend to produce more individual talents. One advantage, as per your team cohesion point is I guess quite a few Asian teams have cores of players from domestic leagues who play together outside of international football. Africa has an incredible spread of people playing various leagues the world over. Probably even more of an issue this World Cup given there’s even less time to prep together as a team.

edit: never mind, the whole "crowd realises it's allowed to move" thing lasted all of 2 minutes.

I hope they dont try to push Neymar half-injured to play. The attacking subs for Seleção are more than capable for the task.

Yeah, they scored a goal and then decided to stop playing for the rest of the half. Hopefully that scare will wake them up for the second half... The Colombian stream I'm watching is discussing if it was offside or not, bit it seems clear offside to me. Sure, the player didn't touch the ball, but he was obviously in the way and obstructing the keeper's view. Ecuador deserved that goal. Good for them.

Yeah, not sure who is supposed to be the creative engine, but Frenkie de Jong is rather invisible, Dumfries flat-out bad and Gakpo scored a goal and not sure he touched another ball after that. Maybe Depay can make a difference?

I barely bother watching any Group A matches anymore and treat their match days as time to catch up on work and chores. Nasty, but there's only so much football one can take in a month.
