The tweets are usually just an easier way of posting an article. Twitter posts are fine with enough context. If the context is inherent such as a trump post or a well known politician its fine. The issue is when you have a ben sharpiro level or a congressmen from san deigo making a tweet the context isn't as inherent and would need introduction just like an article.

Why was this post not actioned?

I tried to report it but I got to it too late.
I'm on board with tightening the posting standards, but it seems like substance-less personal attacks like this are more noxious to discussion than posting articles without comment.

I was wondering the same thing. Some mod clearly messed that one up.

The baker thing has been going on for like 20 pages or something. Kind of gets old because they're repeating things to each other.
|
Don’t worry, I got temp banned from the thread for responding to all comers. Too many people reported me.
|
I agree with that assessment. That discussion was mostly the same talking points being rehashed over and over for 20 pages by one poster. The post in question wasn’t an attack. Just reminding posters that they were spending a lot of effort on someone who has no intention of changing his mind.

To be fair to Danglars I'm not sure many people were adequately responding to his distinction between artistic expression and merely baking a cake. It matters for whether a balance can be struck between gay rights and religious freedom. Even if you would still come out on the side of gay rights, you need to understand and address the distinction.

Jesus Christ. Are you mods high? You banned Danglars of all people?

He's banned from the thread only

And it’s a temp ban. Which will now be debated in the court of public opinion with almost no facts or context apparently.
|
without seeing the ban notification and the stated reason for it, it's harder to assess the merits of it.

Danglars showed me what Seeker sent him. No real reason is given. I'll let him post it here if he wants to, but my interpretation of the reason for the ban is "We, the mods, are tired of being spammed with reports regarding Danglars' posting, so rather than do the right thing and take away the reporting privileges of the imbeciles who keep reporting Danglars, we're just going to ban Danglars and see what happens."

That’s a classic Seeker move. I’m not the least bit surprised.
|
It’s weird because that isn’t an issue for other conservative voters on that subject. My take is that it is a result of how Danglars discusses things in the thread, rather than his political views.
I’m sure the mods will respond at some point.

Take it to website feedback. This was my decision btw, not Seekers. He just went ahead and sent the PM eventhough I should have done it, I just suck at time management.

I appreciate that there's a new system and the mods are figuring it out as they go but to me it just seemed like danglars was repeatedly asked to explain the same point to an increasingly angry crowd and he handled it fairly well.

Exactly. This just boggles the mind. TL literally just banned the last regular staunch, American conservative poster in that thread (Sermokala is more moderate, and I don't consider myself a regular poster anymore).
